Diplomová práce se zabývá prouděním v hydrocyklónu. Hydrocyklón je separační stroj, kterým slouží k oddělování pevných částice z kapaliny (nejčastěji z vody). Díky tangenciálnímu vstupu do zařízení nastává silné vířivé proudění, které způsobuje přisávání vzduchu přes horní a dolní výtok. Toto vzduchové jádro hraje důležitou roli v separaci částic. Výpočty jsou provedeny pomoci CFD.
Experimental testing of hydrocyclone

This bachelor thesis is focused on experimental testing of hydrocyclone. The work is divided into two parts. The first part describes basic parts of hydrocyclone, dimensions, and operating parameters of the tested hydrocyclone and principles of its work. The second, practical part, describes the general preparation of the experiment, which started with searching for a suitable material and continued to the filter device used for particle separation.

The dissertation deals with clogging of reservoirs and ponds by redundant sediments which penetrate water system by erosion. It describes methods of extracting pond sediments. It contains measurement of dewatering of sediments on hydrocyclone and design of laboratory hydrocyclone and filter unit. In the conclusion there is design of technology of dewatering sediments which were extracted by wet method by drainage excavator. Numerical simulation of flowing in hydrocyclones is simulated in the CFX programme and dewatering technology is simulated in the CHEMCAD programme.
CFD simulation and analysis of hydrocyclone

The main goal of the thesis is the design, analysis, CFD simulation and optimization of a hydrocyclone in order to increase the separation efficiency. The reason for this investigation is the lack of information about the design aspects of the hydrocyclone and their effect on the separation efficiency. An important part of the thesis is the teoretical knowledge, which mainly includes a description of the basic parts and a description of the flow. Furthermore, there are discussed the operation itself and the separation theory of the hydrocyclone, with the aim of deriving the basic assumptions and empirical equations. An important criterion for evaluating efficiency is the dependence of this parameter on the size of the particles dp and related phenomena leading to an increase the pressure loss in the device. The CFD simulation is performed by the ANSYS Fluent program, where the discrete phase model DPM was set. As part of the flow analysis, basic contours and a comparison criterion were defined, which describes the negative phenomena associated with the separation efficiency. During the subsequent evaluation, it was concluded that the most important parameter that fundamentally affects the efficiency is the internal dimension of the vortex finder, while the optimization of the geometry of the inlet part had only a minimal effect on the separation efficiency.
