This bachelor's thesis deals with research into methods of measuring and evaluating faults and defects in structures. A part of this thesis is an analysis of the legal issues in regard to investigations of structural defects in buildings. This thesis also includes a practical study of a family house in Černopolní street, which was affected by masonry cracks. The study details the collection and processing of data and analysis of the possible causes of the failures.
Operating and technical condition of the sewer network

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to prepare a list of methods which used for analyzing the operational and technical condition of the sewer network. In this thesis, I worked up a support software program in Excel which is based on the proposed 756905 TNV (Design) for the assessment of sewer networks, sewer systems and buildings. The first part is treated by means of research and deals with methods and apparatus to determine the operational and technical condition of the sewer network. To better understand the issue, this part be supplemented with information from the design of sewer networks and sewage connections. The second part deals with the technical assessment of the sewer network and classification coding system according to EN 13508-2 and 756,905 according to TNV (Design).
The use of activation methods in teaching economics

Abstrakt In my thesis I deal with the activation methods. The aim of this is to explain the students given topic using several activation methods with following test, which should give feedback of the results achieved. I wanted to research whether the activation methods affect students knowledge. I also wanted to know the students opinion on those methods and find out, if they are used by teachers of economics. I divided the diploma thesis into two parts, theory and research. In the theoretical part I describe the education on schools of economics, forms of organization, educational methods mainly the activation ones. In research I describe the procedure of my experiment. The crucial part is the analysis of the didactic tests results, which was done by the students and it is completed with the questionnaires results. I point out the impact of using the activation methods in teaching and the benefits for students, who gain the practical knowledge.
Evaluation of employees in selected institutions from private and public sector

This thesis presents a comparison evaluation and remuneration system in selected institutions, public administration and private sector and evaluating their effectiveness. The aim of the work is based on personal interviews with recruiters in selected institutions determine differences but also the connection between the two sectors and to recommend possible improvements to processes within the institution. The theoretical part explains basic knowledge of evaluating and rewarding employees. These theoretical knowledge is then examined in the empirical part. Based on the questionnaire research is determined the current situation between Czech employers and employee preferences. From personal interviews with recruiters ensues specific differences between the sectors, but also among the institutions themselves within the sector. The conclusion presents recommendations and outcomes from the obtained information.
Formation of the motivational program in a manufacturing company

The diploma thesis deals with motivation of employees in a manufacturing company. The main goal of this this thesis is to analyse the needs for employee motivation and based on this analysis to suggest a motivational program that would be suitable for the HEYCO WERK ČR Ltd. company. The aim of the thesis is also to set the system according to the specifics of a manufacturing company. The analysis was performed on the real data of the HEYCO ČR company. This firm has currently a hundred employees so it is possible to approach to the departments needs individually.
Differences in recruitment, remuneration and classification in the private and public sector

This thesis is focused on the theme of Personnel Management, which currently, due to a growing economy, is becoming increasingly important. The aim of this thesis is to analyze and assess the differences between the private-sector approach to personnel management and the public sector approach, especially in the areas of recruitment, remuneration, and evaluation of employees. If there are differences between the sectors, the aim is to find out what differences are, and suggest solutions. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the first part, theoretical, the process of recruitment and selection of employees is described in detail, in terms of their remuneration and evaluation. The second part, practical, includes and analysis of staffing activities in organizations that willingly provide information for the preparation of this thesis. It also evaluates the differences between private companies and public organizations.
System of performance appraisal in an organization

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the system of performance appraisal in a particular organization. The objective of the thesis is to analyze the current system of appraisal in the company xyz and propose certain measures, based on selected methods, which might lead to improvement in the efficiency of the current company system. This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. In The first part, theoretical part, is describing the basic theoretical concepts and principles, connected with the main field of the interest. The second part, practical part, begins with the introduction of the company xyz and detailed description of the system of performance appraisal, that is currently use there. Based on the facts, discovered in the intercompany documents and empirical research have drawn up a detailed description of the weaknesses of the system and created a proposal leading to elimination these imperfections.
Assessment in Biology Education in Cesky Krumlov and Surroundings

Assessment system is an integral part of all educational processes. Because of that, assessment methods for specific subjects are still an actual issue for many lecturers and researchers, who discuss their effectiveness and suitability of use as a part of certain subjects or other educational activities. Specific assessment methods used during the integrated science lessons as well as personal opinions of pupils were investigated with the questionnaire survey performed in various elementary schools throughout Český Krumlov district. Nowadays the prevalent assessment methods is summative one, mostly represented by grades received at the end of certain educational unit. However, there is an increasing number of modern educational methods implemented into the education and some of them allow to use the formative assessment, otherwise called as continuous assessment. Some items in the questionnaire were also focused on pupils' experience with formative assessment and their attitude to this evaluation approach.
Assessment in Biology Education in Tabor and surroundings

Bachelor thesis is focused on monitoring the assessment methods used in biology lessons in Tabor and surroundings. Data was obtained through a questionnaire survey at secondary schools and grammar school with the emphasis on students' personal opinions and experiences in relation to individual assessment approaches, including experience with formative assessment, which is currently the subject of interest and discussion. This bachelor thesis consists of review devoted characterization methods and types of assessment. The practical part introduces the research results. The results showed that the oral and written examination were the most frequently used assessment instrument in the biology lessons. These instruments were also stated to be the most beneficial method from respondents' point of view. More than half of the respondents at schools in the selected region had experience with the formative assessment. There were no significant differences in using of the formative assessment between selected schools.
