The aim of this diploma thesis was determine and verify the quality of eggs and intensity of laying in the meat-type and egg-type in Japanese quails. Further two lines of meat-type quails that were divergently selected on the shape of the growth curve were included in the study. Two lines of egg-type quails, whose were breeded an intensive positive selection of parent populations. Egg weight, albumen weight, weight and color of yolk and shell weight were monitored, also observed the intensity of the laying in experiment. The monitoring period of the laying intensity was about 6 months in meat-type quails and about 8 months in egg-type quails. Experiment was carried out within the framework of breeding in the area of MENDELU. Meat-type quails had an average heavier egg compared to egg-type quails, but the laying of intensity was higher in egg-type quails.
