History of Czech Hispanistics after 1989

This bachelor thesis describes the history of Czech Hispanistics after 1989. The first part defines what Hispanistics is, how Spanish is studied in the world and what is the situation of Spanish studies in the Czech Republic. The second part deals only with the university environment history, changes and development in Hispanic studies after 1989. The key part is a list of significant Czech Hispanicists.
Josef Dubský in the Context of Czech and Foreign Hispanistic Studies

This thesis is focused on the Czech prestigious hispanist Josef Dubský and his linguistic labour. It is divided into five chapters. The first chapter outlines the history of Spanish studies in the Czech Republic. The second chapter speaks about life of Josef Dubský. Next three chapters are dedicated to Dubský´s labour in the field of grammar, lexicology and semantics and stylistics. There are presented studies and articles published by Dubský in different Czech and international periodicals and also his Spanish textbooks and Czech-Spanish (Spanish-Czech) dictionaries. In the annex there is enclosed the summery of Dubsky´s publications including the front pages of the textbooks and dictionaries we used in this work.
Hispanistics in the Journal for Modern Philology.

The present diploma thesis gives an overview of hispanistic topics in the Journal for Modern Philology with emphasis on the period after 1953. The work is divided into three parts. The first and largest part is devoted to the chronological overview of the above-mentioned topics. The second part examines the thematic lines appearing in the journal and the third part provides brief profiles of contributors who published articles with hispanistic topics. The appendix to this work contains a list of all hispanistic contributions in the Journal for Modern Philology from 1911 to 2014 with some additional information.
Past and present of Spain in the sight of the Czech Hispanism

The thesis "Past and present of Spain in the sight of the Czech Hispanism" deals with evolution of Czech Hispanic studies that research history of Spain and Czech-Spanish relationships since the late 19th century until now. The whole work is divided into four fundamental chapters. The first chapter introduces Czech hispanists - historians by the year 1945. The second chapter is devoted to the most important persons of Czech Hispanism after 1945. The third chapter is looking for the feedback for works of Czech hispanists ? historians abroad.The fourth chapter relates Czech Hispanic studies to different European Hispanisms and discusses the existence of coincidence with other countries' trends.
The development of the Hispanic research in the territory of the Czech Republic

The thesis ``The development of research on Spanish cultural issues in Czech countries`` is concerned with the development of hispanism in the Czech countries. The first chapter is dedicated to Czech-Spanish relations from their beginning which incorporate s the origins of Czech hispanism at the turn of 19th and 20th century and describes its periods to present time. It compares the level of Czech Hispanism with other hispanistics sciences in Europe. The second chapter chronologically represents the increase of works by Spanish authors translated into Czech. The third chapter brings the list of the most significant historiographers and events from the Spanish history which drew their interests. The fourth chapter is dedicated to Czech linguists examining the Spanish grammar. The final chapter is focused on Czech literary scientists.
