Awareness of contagious disease in mind of pupils at basic and secondary schools.
Peštová, Ilona ; Rajsiglová, Ina (advisor) ; Fraiberk, Martin (referee)
Infectious diseases are a very hot topic nowadays in society. In recent years, there were several epidemics, infectious diseases (hepatitis A, Avian influenza, pandemic influenza A) and nobody knows when will the next "new" infection. At the outbreak of epidemics, there is great interest in the company to obtain information about the disease, but often also to unnecessary panic, because the media often publish incorrect information. It would be preferable, in order to improve public awareness and prevent the unnecessary spread of disease. Great emphasis should be given to prevent the disease - primarily on immunization, hygiene rules and principles of safe sex. Quality information should be mainly from teachers in teaching their pupils, as is clear from research books, infectious diseases are only mentioned in textbooks and the number of substantive information in them is missing. The fact that pupils of primary schools and grammar schools with basic information on infectious diseases do not meet in the classroom, evidenced by the results of a survey carried out in the 6th classes and first year at selected elementary schools and grammar schools in Prague. To raise awareness of the pupils in school was to create a methodical manual for teachers, which summarizes information about bacterial and...

Level of awareness and attitudes of parents to above-standard vaccination of children 0-3 years in Přibram.
PODLENOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis is concerned with the level of parents´ awareness and attitudes to above-standard vaccination of children from 0-3 years in Příbram. Among the optional vaccination of children from 0-3 years belong vaccination against pneumococcal disease, rotavirus infections, meningococcal invasive disease (caused by meningococcal of group C, A+C, or A, C, W 135 and Y, now also of group B), tick-borne encephalitis, varicella smallpox, influenza and hepatitis A (or a combination of type A + B). The first part deals with the issue in a theoretical perspective. It foreshadows the basic characteristics of the diseases against which the premium vaccination of children from 0-3 years is offered. Further it is focused on vaccines against these diseases, which can occur in the Czech Republic. The survey is summarized in the research. There were parents of children attending one of the 12 kindergartens in Příbram in the sample of the research. tely 40% of the parents (or mothers) of these children in each kindergarten. The results were summarized in schedules of absolute and relative frequencies, or graphs. It was set three basic goals that were met with five hypotheses. The first of these was to monitor the attitudes of parents to above-standard vaccination of children from 0-3 years in Příbram. To this target relate hypothesis H1: Parents are interested in above-standard vaccination of children from 0-3 years in Příbram, H2: Parents with higher educational level have significantly higher interest in above-standard vaccination of children from 0-3 years and H3: Parents are statistically significantly more interested in vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis than other extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years, due to an endemic area of tick-borne encephalitis in Příbram. These hypotheses were not confirmed statistically. The second aim investigated the main reason for the possible lack of interest in extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years in Příbram. The target was filled with hypothesis H4: The main reason for the possible lack of parents´ interest in extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years is high price of vaccines, which was statistically refuted. The third goal was to explore parents' knowledge about diseases against which the extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years is offered. To this goal was set the hypothesis H5: Parents have sufficient information about the diseases against which the extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years is offered. This hypothesis was confirmed. The hypotheses were verified by ?chi-square? test at a significance level of 5%, which is an instrument of verification or falsification of hypotheses. This work may be used in practice as a preview to the parents´ awareness and interest in extra vaccination of children from 0-3 years. As well as cumulative information materials for professionals and the public about the above-standard vaccination of children from 0-3 years.
Hepatitis occurrence among patient of the Psychiatric Hospital Červený Dvůr between 2000 and 2009.
BANÁKOVÁ, Marie
This thesis is focused on occurrence of viral hepatitises by clients in Psychiatric Hospital Červený Dvůr between 2000 and 2009. In my beachelor thesis was covered years from 2000 to 2004. Now I continue with this diploma thesis where I want the 10 year results join together to show how the situation is developing. The intravenous drug users are the aimed group. These drug users belong to a high-risk group in which hepatitises types A, B or C are spread the most thanks to their high-risk behaviour. These days researches and epidemiologic researches show that the intravenous drug users belong among the main high-risk groups endangered by infectious disease. Viral hepatitises represent a serious problem, mainly hepatitis type C, because there is no way of protection. This hepatitis is occuring without any symptoms of this disease by 50 ? 70 % people. By 70 ? 80 % it passes into a chronic stadium. It is possible to protect yourself by hepatitis type A vaccination. This hepatitis doesn´t change into a chronic stadium. It is easily spread by infected water or food. In our republic there occured several epidemics. Hepatitises started to spread among drug users and then they spread also among the rest of population. The last epidemic occured in 2008. Hepatitis type B represents high risks for the perceptive population. There is a vaccine and population have a chance to protect against it. In the Czech Republic there is vaccination carried out within special vaccination of people who have high-risk job, for example in health service. Children of HBsAg positive mothers are vaccinated after they are born. From 2001 hepatitis vaccination was put into regular vaccination of children aged under 1 year in our republic. Also 12 year old children are vaccinated from 2001. Hepatitis type B often becomes chronic and the mortality is 1 ? 2 %. Intravenous using of drug is important high-risk factor. It is one of the ways of transfering hepatitises type B and C. Next monitored indicators are the age of the clients, achieved level of education, basic drug, the age of the first usage of any drug, the age of intravenous application of drug and occurrence of hepatitises type A, B, C by clients. According to my research I used quantitative research which allows me to analyse problem of viral hepatitises by clients from Psychiatric Hospital in Červený Dvůr. The gained information was worked out by secondary analysis of medical data. The monitored group has 2499 clients in years 2000 ? 2009. The aim of this thesis is to get general knowledge about prevalence of viral hepatitises by clients of Psychiatric Hospital in Červený Dvůr from 2000 to 2009 and to consider their progress. The methodical procedure: there will be used a content analysis of medical data given by Psychiatric Hospital in Červený Dvůr. The result of this thesis is that it indicates and covered the develop of drug scene. Concerning the age the main group consists of 20 ? 24 year old men and women, next large group consists of clients aged 25 ? 29. The monitored group is also changing according to achieved level of education. In the first five years of research there dominated vocational school, but in the last five years there it changed into basic school. Among women there happened no change. There basic school still dominates. Concerning the drugs there also changed something. At the beginning there dominated clients using heroin, in the middle there meth dominated. Hepatitis type A in acute stadium was revealed by only two clients. Hepatitis type B noticed a slight increase. Hepatitis type C also noticed a sligh increase, but it is probably a sign of increase of clients with chronic form of this hepatitis.
Health risks to the area affected by flooding and measures to overcome them in the territory of the Czech Republic.
KUČEROVÁ, Andrea
The topic of my thesis called "Health risks to the area affected by flooding and measures to overcome them in the territory of the Czech Republic" I have been engaged in over the recent years affected and still affects all of us. I think this topic is actual as the Czech Republic was hit by floods several times in the past. It is still necessary to develop new measures to minimize the consequences on the lives and health of the population after the flood. In the theoretical part of my thesis, I described the most common infectious diseases associated with the consequences of floods and I was trying to point out the measures which are needed for the rescue and liquidation activities in this natural disaster. The described measures are important to minimize the infectious diseases which threaten the population. To find the practical results, I prepared the questionnaire that I gave to the random people who were involved in the floods in 2002, 2006 and 2009 in the South Bohemia and Pilsen regions. Then, I compared the results of the infectious diseases with the statistical data of the reported infectious diseases in the Czech Republic. The study tested the hypothesis whether the population at the time of the floods was duly and properly protected and informed about the health risks immediately after the flood. This hypothesis can be closed as confirmed as I was convinced that the measures were sufficient to protect the population against the health risks. I dare to say that there are no health risks during the floods, because the only one practical and theoretical knowledge talk about preparing for the evacuation due to a possible flooding.
