Counseling in the Context of Health and Social Care
PALOCHOVÁ, Markéta
The aim of the bachelor 's thesis was to find out how social counseling is provided in the context of health and social care in medical facilities. The theoretical part of the thesis introduced the basic characteristics of social counseling. In the practical part, research questions were set. To achieve the set goal of the bachelor's thesis, a qualitative research strategy was chosen using the method of questioning and the technique of semi-structured interview. The research group consisted of health and social workers who worked in hospitals in the South Bohemian Region at the time of the research. The semi-structured interviews were recorded in audio form with the consent of the informants and subsequently transcribed. Data analysis was performed by open coding method. The bachelor thesis deals with individual aspects of providing social counseling and introduces the actual state of implementation of social counseling in hospitals from the perspective of health and social workers. The research showed that health and social workers in hospitals provide social counseling mainly to hospitalized clients and their family members, whom they help to solve the current social situation. Social counseling is mainly focused on providing post-hospitalization care. It usually takes place at the patient's bedside or in the office of the health and social workers. The research revealed problems with insufficiently secured privacy in the provision of social counseling to bedridden people, the need to educate the public in the field of social services and also draws attention to the appropriateness of increasing the safety of health and social workers. It will be possible to use the bachelor's thesis as a source of information on the method of providing social counseling in health care facilities in the South Bohemian Region. It will also serve as feedback for individual medical facilities in which the research was conducted.

The Role of a Health and Social Worker at Providing Health and Social Care for Hospitalized Patients in a Hospital
PAZDEROVÁ, Jitka
The goal of a bachelor thesis called The Role of a Health and Social Worker in the Provision of Health and Social Care for Hospitalized Patients was to define the purpose of a health and social worker in providing health and social care for hospitalized patients in various chosen departments. The goal was partly achieved with the use of a theoretical research for the given topic, which is covered in the first chapter of the bachelor thesis. Following part of the thesis is the practical chapter, which either confirmed or denied the conclusions from the theoretical part. The resolution was based on the semi-structured interviews with eight interviewees who were all health and social workers from various hospital departments. The conclusion of the practical research was made using the qualitative research approach based on the semi-structured interviews with health and social workers who are currently actively engaging in the health and social services. The semi-structured interviews were transcribed word-to-word and encoded using the open coding. The codes were then processed by using the method of creating clusters, which were later used to find relations within the individual clusters.

I also look at social work in hospitals, the work of health/social workers and the theories and methods that are applied to social work in hospitals. The aim of the paper is to map out the influence of social work in hospitals on the health of patients. The main research question set out was, in what way does social work in hospitals influence the health of patients? In order to answer this question, I asked the following sub-questions: 1. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the physical side of the health of patients/clients? 2. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the mental side of the health of patients/clients? 3. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the social situation of patients/clients? 4. What methods or techniques of social work are used in social work at hospitals? The strategy of qualitative research was used to achieve the objectives set out. Questioning in the form of a semi-structured interview was the method chosen for obtaining information and questioning was supplemented by the method of monitoring. Interviews were conducted with 6 health/social workers and 15 clients/patients of such health/social workers. This paper could contribute towards an improvement in the social work services provided in hospitals and may also serve to broaden the knowledge level of the general and expert public.
