The Analysis of necessity of volunteers in social health sphere
VERNEROVÁ, Barbora
A topic of the bachelor thesis is Analysis of the need of volunteers in the health and social area. The thesis has been focused on a volunteering in the former district of Teplice (hereinafter Teplice), thus in the region which the author comes from. A theoretical part is focused on a clarification of terms such as a volunteering, volunteers, volunteer centers and programs, a health and social area and on the characteristics of the Teplice region itself. Through the research the author of the bachelor thesis tries to find out a range of interest in volunteers and their activities in the mentioned area. The other goal is to discover a measure of the need of volunteers in the health and social area in the territory of Teplice. The author ascertains the measure of the need in facilities which cooperate with the volunteers as well as in the facilities which would like to involve them. The author also focuses on the reasons of the disregard for volunteers in the addressed facilities. To work up the thesis there was used as a research method the interrogation method, a technique of the questionnaire. A pilot study was also a part of the thesis. Information about a cooperation of the Volunteer Center in Ústí nad Labem with facilities in Teplice were obtained through the use of a semicontrolled interview with center employees. A part of the pilot study was also sending a questionnaire to five respondents, thereby the author verified the clarity of questions. The survey addressed 45 facilities in Teplice, 35 facilities participated actively. Three hypotheses were appointed in the reseasrch. The first hypothesis ``There is an interest in volunteers in facilities operating within the health and social area{\crqq} was confirmed by the research results. The second hypothesis ``A number of volunteers active in the Teplice region is lower than the need of the facilities operating in that region in the health and social area{\crqq}, was also confirmed. Just as the last hypothesis was confirmed as well {\clqq}Some facilities do not know where and how to get the volunteers{\crqq}. The research showed that the volunteering is little advertised and organized in the Teplice region. Thus it is necessary for the municipality, facilities as well as volunteers focus more on activities in this area. Then it was pointed to the possibility of establishing a coordination center in Teplice, which would certainly help not only a promotion and organization of the volunteering, but also to its quality improvement and extension of an offer of volunteer activities.
Barriers to volunteering in the health and social area
RODKOVÁ, Iveta
The thesis deals with a theme of a professionally guided volunteering which is at present a highly developed, professional, modern and fast growing activity. It is focused particularly on barriers to volunteering in the health and social area. In a theoretical part the author gives attention to information important for a comprehensive view on volunteering, she specifies its legislative embodiment. Next, for example, she introduces a division of voluntary activities from different points of view. Subsequently, she gradually moves in thoughts to characteristics of barriers which the volunteering fumbles with and which make impossible to implement it successfully. She clarifies their manifestations and tries to seek possible solutions. The emphasis is put on the barriers which occur on the side of social and healthcare facilities. The aim of the practical research is to refer to the barriers to volunteering in the health and social area and to offer possibilities of their elimination. Therefore the first objective is to chart the most frequent barriers to volunteering from the side of social and healthcare institutions in the Czech Republic. The second objective, partial, connected with the first one, is to chart opportunities how to overcome the barriers at the organizations which use the volunteers. The thesis offers two views of the issue. It analyses its findings at organizations which does not have any volunteers but also at those ones which already use their services. The research was realised by a quantitative form. The data were collected by means of an interviewing method and a technique of a semi-structured interview. They were analysed graphically and statistically. The results show that there are really a lot of barriers which facilities face in the context of the volunteering. Therefore thanks to particular examples from practice the results are bringing some possible ways how to solve the situation in facilities interested in the volunteering.

It is focused on the use of volunteers in health and social areas within comprehensive rehabilitation, i.e. in organizations involved in the care for physically or socially handicapped persons. The objective of the thesis was to survey the use of volunteers in these organizations. The first sub-objective was to determine the potential interest of organizations to make use of volunteers in the future. The second sub-objective was to provide a comprehensive overview on the use of volunteers to the public in Příbram. In the pre-research in the practical part, the survey of organizations operating in Příbram in the health and social field was compiled. In 29 organizations semi-conducted interviews were carried out with their managers in order to determine whether they use volunteers at their activities, also to find out if they would like to take advantage of the volunteers´ potential, and in what specific areas volunteers could participate. The results of the research have shown that currently more than a third of surveyed organizations use volunteers in the health and social field. Most of the surveyed organizations also intend to get involved volunteers in their activities. The thesis also gives information about the history and specifics of the volunteer programs that are run by a professional volunteers´ coordinator in 4 organizations. This thesis provides a source of information on volunteering in the health and social area for professionals as well as for the general public and it may also help to possible applicants for volunteering in Příbram. It also offers new insights to the public on the possible use of volunteers, such as in the Volunteer Center Příbram.
