Design of chemically resistant coatings using secondary raw materials and hazardous waste
Stodolovská, Šárka ; Jakubík, Aleš (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
On the basis of theoretical knowledge gained from Czech and foreign technical literature, two types of coatings using fillers based on secondary raw materials, including hazardous waste, is designed and experimentally verified. The expected use of the proposed coating systems, both PREMIUM and ECOLOGY, is the protection of building structures that are permanently stressed by increased chemical stress. When designing the PREMIUM coating material, emphasis is primarily focused on chemical resistance and functional parameters, and the ecological performance of the raw materials used is monitored primarily with the ECOLOGY coating material. In both cases, it is important to maintain a favorable price / value ratio.
DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIAL REHABILITATION MATERIALS FOR CONCRETE FOR EXTREME STRESS WITH USE OF SECONDARY RAW MATERIALS
Hodul, Jakub ; Klečka,, Tomáš (referee) ; Ďurica,, Tibor (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with finding the use of some waste and secondary raw materials in the production of special polymer remediation materials for concrete, which could be applied even in constructions, where extreme mechanical and chemical load is occurred. The aim of this doctoral thesis is experimental examination of the possibility of using selected types of waste, including hazardous waste which represent the highest risk to environment, and secondary raw materials as a substitute for the currently used primary fillers in order to reduce the ecological footprint of the product itself. Some types of secondary raw materials, such as filter fly ash contaminated by flue gas denitrification process, are no longer used as a concrete admixture or partial cement substitution due to unwanted release of toxic ammonia (NH3). Mainly for this reason, the thesis deals with the progressive utilization of such types of secondary raw materials as well as with another currently unused waste into polymeric patching, grouting and anchoring materials while preserving or improving the final properties compared to reference materials using only primary raw materials. The result of this thesis is to find out suitable formulations for efficient preparation of special polymeric remediation materials for concrete containing waste and secondary raw materials as fillers. The partial aim of the thesis and a the scientific contribution is an observation of the developed materials internal structure using a modern device, CT tomography, an influence of the filler type on the long-term durability, and last but not least the observation of the rate of pollutants incorporation, found in hazardous waste, into the polymeric matric with the aid of EDX and FTIR analysis.
Design of grout joint for chemical exposure using secondary raw materials
Matušková, Veronika ; Hodná, Jana (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is the design of a high-quality polymeric grout joint using secondary raw materials and hazardous waste for increased chemical exposure. The main use assumed of the proposed grout joint is grouting of the cast basalt elements in building objects that are systematically exposure due to the highly aggressive chemical load. The use of input materials produced by progressive technologies should be another benefit of this grout joint to enhance the ecological aspects of the grout joint production.
The concept of waste and the classification of waste
Trojanová, Tereza ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Humlíčková, Petra (referee)
The thesis deals with the legal definition of waste; it analyzes the meaning of the concept of waste in international, European and Czech legislation. The paper mentions the rich jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which has significantly influenced the concept of waste in the Directive 2008/98/EC. The thesis also concerns with the Act. No. 185/2001 Coll., on waste, and with the concept of by-product and concept of end-of-waste status. The paper also shows the classification of waste in the Czech legislation and defines the categories of hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and municipal waste.
Study on the content of hazardous waste in municipal waste in CR
Machová, Daniela ; Benešová, Libuše (advisor) ; Černík, Bohumil (referee)
It is quite complicated to evaluate the hazardous waste production and management because the terminology is inconsistent and the legislation differs across countries. This makes it very difficult to compare data among countries and even within the same one. Hence the same data may vary by several tens of percent if they are generated according to different directives. This work deals with evaluation of the production of hazardous waste belonging to the group 20 in Catalogue of wastes. The total production of the hazardous waste from municipalities and citizens (households) is evaluated over a period 2008 - 2011 and the production in the capital city of Prague is for a term of 2006 - 2012. All the types of hazardous waste of the group 20 in Catalogue of wastes cannot be treated individually, due to their high number, and therefore they were arranged into seven groups, which were further processed statistically. The dominant component in both test cases is paint, the total production contains also big amount of electrical waste, fluorescent lamps and batteries. An important part of this work is to compare the composition of household waste originating from three different types of installations - housing estates, mixed and rural. Contrary to my original expectations, the most hazardous waste comes...
The study of occurrence, collection and disposal of hazardous waste
Wolf, Adam ; Benešová, Libuše (advisor) ; Zimová, Magdalena (referee)
This bachelor thesis provides an overview about the hazardous waste. At the beginning there will be discussed the legislative measures related to hazardous waste management and international cooperation. Following three chapters are dedicated to these hazardous wastes: asbestos waste, sludge from wastewater treatment and ashes from incineration waste. Today forbidden material asbestos occurs in insulation of the old public and industrial buildings. It is essential to prevent release of asbestos fibres. Further currently was proposed several promising processes for treatment of sewage sludge and ashes from incineration waste that management in the Czech Republic overlooks. Presented methods emphasize degradation of hazardous properties from the concerned waste. Thesis shows current occurrence of waste in environment. Main objective is assessment of potential risks for human health or environmental components, consequent from hazardous waste and draw implications for the most effective treatment. A conclusion of literature research summarized advice for treatment of these waste. Key words: hazardous waste, hazardous properties, asbestos containing waste, sludge from wastewater treatment, sewage sludge, waste incineration, bottom and fly ash, vitrification, heavy metals.
Ekonomická náročnost rekonstrukce či přestavby bývalého kravína v obci Oltyně
HORKÝ, Petr
The diploma thesis deals with the economic demands of individual proposals how to deal with a particular object and evaluate the most suitable solution. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with constructions of agricultural constructions, defects of building structures and their remediation and handling of hazardous waste. The practical part deals with financial demands of individual proposals and their subsequent evaluation.
