Evaluation of porosity in gravity - cast Al - alloy castings

Solving of this diploma thesis is evaluation porosity in sequence on mechanical properties from different Al alloys. Castings were made by gravity casting to the iron-mould or gravity casting to the sand. Measurements (mechanical properties, porosity, DAS - dendrite arm spacing, shape factors and sphericity) were statistically analysed and dependencies which were detected were processed to the graphs.
Preparation of ceramic-metal composites for ballistic protection

Cílem této práce je příprava keramicko-kovového kompozitu pro balistickou ochranu. Přičemž velká pozornost se klade na rozhraní obou materiálů. Práce popisuje jak vlastnosti používaných keramik a kovů, tak i aplikovatelné mechanické testy Kompozit na bázi oxidu hlinitého a hliníků byl experimentálně připraven metodou gravitačního lití / slinování hliníků, která vedla ke spojení s korundovými hexagony. K dosažení optimálního výsledku a co nejnižší teplotě lití bylo třeba vyzkoušet několik teplotních režimů. Připravené vzorky byly balisticky testovány na základě norem NIJ Standard- 0108.01 a NATO Standard STANAG 2280. Vlastnosti rozhraní byly ověřeny pomocí lomové analýzy vzorků, která zkoumala vzorky poškozené balistickým testováním. Za účelem zkoumání rozhraní byla připraveny speciální zkouška čtyřbodým ohybem. Dále bylo provedeno předběžné zkoumání mikrostruktury hliníku.
Quality control of castings from aluminium alloys cast by gravity casting into metal moulds

My thesis was focused on the complex technological preparation of the production of a cast SUPPORT T160 for a client. The thesis is divided in the following parts; preparation, construction and production of the metal mold, experimental test of casting foundry, measurement and casting control. A computer software was used as a help in the creation of the cast, construction of the mold, simulation of casting, solidification and temperature.
Making a replica of cannon barell

The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the production of a cannon replica mainly on the basis of a suitably chosen technology. On the basis of a literary study, which consisted mainly of an examination of historical sources, gravitational casting was chosen. The mold was formed from the inorganic molding compound GEOPOL. The model of the barrel was created according to the historical model of the ship's cannon. The model was created by CNC machining and the material is artificial wood. Cast iron with flake graphite, which has suitable foundry properties, was chosen as the casting material. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation of the selected technology.
Analýza výroby odlitků ze slitin hliníku odlévaných do kokil

The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and experimental. The theoret-ical part deals with machining of foundry as a production technology, where emphasis is placed on gravity casting. Further the theoretical part deals with the problems of the thermal regime of mold, dimensional stability and defects of castings, where this issue is important for experimental measurement in the foundry and its evaluation. The experimental part transmits the findings from the theoretical part to reality by measuring castings. Here is a description of the measured castings and the main parts of the temperature and casting temperature measurements, casting dimensions measure-ments. It follows the evaluation of casting defects. At the end of the work is discussed the measured results with their possible causes and suggestions for further solution.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the production of castings made of a non-ferrous metals, mainly of the alluminium alloy. The main emphasis is on the tilt casting method. The main focus of this work is introduction of the whole casting proces from task to casting of a specific product. Among another thing, are introduced a foundry technical equipments and a computer support. For a comparison are in the work included other metodes of casting alluminium alloys, mainly the gravity casting.
