Francesco de Goya: Los Caprichos (The Caprices)
Moučková, Lucie ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Prahl, Roman (referee)
The present work Francisco de Goya: Los Caprichos (Caprices) is dedicated to the analysis of the Francisco de Goya's graphical cycle of the same title. The artist, who was influenced by the ideas of his enlightened friends, by the consequences of a disease that undoubtedly changed his perception of the world, the author, who was encouraged by a desire for free expression in art, represents a landmark between traditional and modern Spanish art. Among the contemporary artistic preferences in the second half of the 18th century, we follow the gradual development of Francisco de Goya - graphic artist, its liberation from conventions and his move to the creation which reflects the author's personality and his views of the society. His original and enigmatic graphic work is based on many contrasts: it is technically innovative as Goya uses an unusual technique of etching and aquatints, and it also thematically reflects the ideas of many previous generations. The work is focused the collection Los Caprichos, which not only reflects the views of Goya's Enlightenment ideas, but it also builds on the rich folk traditions and superstitions. Based on studies of selected prints and literature we are looking for links between apparently different topics. The way the prostitution, witchcraft and the donkey figures...

Bančanský, Andrej ; Lokšík, Martin (advisor) ; Šmíd, Milan (referee)
This work studies the influence that non-linear editing of visual materials and usage of digital news production system have on the final form of news programmes. I also compare these advanced technologies with the older linear editing and analog playout, illustrate it by describing the principles of both methods and explain it on a hypothetical example. Two chapters are devoted to the integration of digital archives and graphics tools. The examined period used for comparison of new and old technologies is the week from 2 to 8 April in 2010 and the same week a decade earlier. The news programme examined is Udalosti on Czech television. The aim is to point out how the technical possibilities can change the workflow and form of newscast, not just in theory but also practically.

It is also divided into individual chapters in accordance to the techniques being used. The introduction of this work focuses mostly on the life of Mr. Frantisek Tichy. In particular, much is focused on his education in painting and the influential events in his life that have had an impact on his artwork. Undoubtedly, a large role in his artwork was thanks to his pedagogical role at the Fine Arts University in the 1940s. Much of his artwork also reflected the political situation and social changes of the time. Mr. Tichy did not adapt his works in favour of the principles of social realism and thus also was discharged from the university. The following chapters are devoted to his actual artwork. His artwork is clearly defined into many categories such as: painting, graphics, illustrations, practical artwork and theatre. Personal and family representation of Zacharias of Hradec in the Telc Chateau.
Salava, Jan ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
The castle in Telc is one of the few buildings in the Czech republic whose interiors from the second half of the 16th century have been preserved almost unaltered. Owner dominion Zacharias of Hradec had the castle enlarged and its interiors splendidly decorated. The decorations reflect the personal taste of the castle lord. The early designs were taken from a production of Nurnberg workshops. Later the Dutch influence prevailed. The inspiration by the Dutch engravers Cornelis Cort, Frans Huys and Swiss Rudolf Wyssenbach can be traced. Later, but not less important source of inspiration, is book Imagines gentis austriacae by the Italian painter and draughtsman Francesco Terzio. Various crypto-portraits, mainly in the Rooms that were opened to the public, may be attributed to personal representation as well. Another very specific form of representation are the bears who support the coat of arms of the castle lord and his first wife Kateřina of Wallenstain. The bears point out to a legend, according to which the castle lord's family descends from house Ursini, an ancient Italian family. The imperial chamber served for family representation as well. The chamber is decorated with portraits medallions of the roman kings and queens and several unidentifiable portraits. Although I was not able to prove...
