The Potential of Geocaching as a Tool for Exploring Regions and Landscapes.

Geocaching is an outdoor activity where participants use GPS technology to find hidden caches. These caches are located using coordinates provided online, and players then embark on a real-world search to locate them. The aim of this diploma thesis is to closely examine the impact of geocaching on landscape exploration within a region. It aims to explani fundamental terms used in geocaching, core gameplay principles, and related concepts for readers. The research section builds on these concepts to addressing predefined research questions and seeks to provide insight into broader context. As part of the recommendations, summary overviews of selected caches are presented. Subjectively selected caches are evaluated based on predefined criteria, and their profiles are provided.
Analýza geocachingu v mikroregionu Vranovsko

The bachelor thesis describes the current state of geocaching in the Vranovsko microregion and it is consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part presents basic information about geocaching and it is terminology, typology, history and possibilities of use abroad and in the Czech Republic. In the second part, the results of the analysis are presented and processed into the tables and graphs.

The bachelor thesis be concerned with possibilities of geocaching in tourism in the area of the Administrative District of the municipality with extended competence Příbram. The main goal of this thesis is devising own containers called caches or geocaches which are not associated with any existing cache in the area. These suggestions should be contribute to more attractiveness of the area and bring new visitors to the region. Part of the thesis is the characteristic of tourism in the area and the characteristic of geocaching as well. Also, geocaching and tourism are not described only for the administrative district, but for the whole state territory of the Czech Republic.
Contributions of Geocaching as a tourism product in South Bohemia

This bachelor thesis focuses on Geocaching which is a leisure activity, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS - enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location. In the theoretical part, specific terms concerning destination in tourism, modern technologies and Geocaching and its influence on tourism are explained. As the key point of the practical part was established the serie of five thematic caches RIO16 that symbolize the number of circles in the emblem of the Olympic Games and through which it was possible to track consumer behaviour of Geocaching players in tourism on this particular example. Based on the foundation of the serie was created questionnaire. At the end of the thesis the new tourism product called "Baroque Treasures of South Bohemia" is proposed based on the proven fact that Geocaching has positive impact on tourism. This is another thematic serie of caches created to raise awareness about the important Baroque monuments of South Bohemia. Based on the data analysed in this thesis, it is assumed that a new serie of caches will encourage attendance of Geocaching players who are willing to travel for caches, pay for the provided tourist attractions during the hunt and use tourism products of the South Bohemia.
Geocaching as a tool for development of tourism

The aim of this thesis is to examine the impact of geocaching on tourism. The theoretical part explains definition of geocaching, its history, rules and principles. After that the theoretical part analyzes geocaching from the tourism perspective. In this part, there are also described the different projects where geocaching was used for tourism development in the regions of the Czech Republic. In the practical part, a survey is performed to examine the behavior of geocaching participants and their impact on tourism. In the final part, geocaching application for the development of tourism in the region is designed. The outcome of this work is the evaluation of potential visitors-geocaching players as a target group for the development of local tourism.
Development in the area of the Administrative District of the municipality with extended competence České Budějovice

This thesis deals with the potential of geocaching for tourism development in the area of the administrative district of the municipality with extended competence České Budějovice. The main objective is to create own suggestions of geocaching tourist routes along new or already published geocaches in locations where it could help for tourist development. An essential part of the thesis is an analysis of geocaches located in selected district and the usability of these caches for tourism development. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characterization of the district, mainly from the point of view of tourism. Next chapters of the theoretical part are about basic terms and abbreviations in geocaching and its potential in tourism.
The Use physical activity Geocaching to increase tourist traffic to the area Suchdol nad Lužnicí

The physical insufficiency is increasing, especially among the young people. Physical activites are necessary for a healthy lifestyle and from many physical activities geocaching is our option. At the beginning, let us briefly introduce you to what geocaching is, what you can expect from it, what you need for it as we explain the main rules and terms of this game. We´ve created series of cache called the Heart Series in order to increase a tourism in the area of Suchdol nad Lužnicí, which had been chosen for its uniqueness and beauty. Based on the questionnaire, which we have enclosed in the cache listing, we've created the main profile of geocachers, who visited our caches. Also a basic guide was created for the Departement of Health Education, with instructions how to get involved in this physical activity. Based on the questionnaire, disclosed in the cache listing, with 12 final questions using the quota selection, we have created the main profile of geocachers, who visited our caches. We had 84 volunteers from the attendants of the "Heart series". We also compare the number of tourists in the area, within the years 2013 and 2014. This work contributes to a healthy life style with use of hiking and cycle touring.
