Title: Identification of the important tactical problems in the action game - set plays. Objectives: According to the analysis of the set plays in football European Championship in 2012 we had to determine characteristical points and measure of frequency of the set plays that lead up to overcome the rival defense and then end the scoring or endanger the rival goal. There were created typologies and applications. Methods: The research was created by the method of the indirect structured observation on DVD. Therefore it is both qualitative and quantitative research. The results were written down in graphs. Results: There were 48 set-plays (19 corners, 14 indirect free kicks, 9 direct free kicks, 3 penalties and 3 throw-ins) when the opponent's goal was threatened or attacking team scored, during all 31 matches of the European Championship 2012. 16 goals were scored from set-plays (6 corner kicks, 5 indirect free kicks, 1 direct free kick, 3 penalties, 1 throw-in). That makes it 21, 05 percent of all 76 scored goals. From 6 goals from corner kicks were 4 scored by head. That is 66,7 percent of al goals scored from corner kicks. The number of situations leading to threatening a goal or scoring a goal had decreasing ¨tendency with increasing number of passes (28 x 1 pass, 6 x 2 passes, 3 x 3 passes)....
