Linguistic analysis of current speeches

This diploma thesis addresses the issue of spoken speech - it deals with speech by presenters of selected television programmes. The theoretical section discusses the functional style of journalism, summarises current knowledge about the production of speech and the audio aspects of language, while also providing basic information about lexis, syntax and nonverbal communication. The research section focuses on the ways of constructing spoken expressions and a description of linguistic devices at the phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic and lexical levels. Non-verbal communication is also evaluated. Expressions are analysed and compared.
The language of discussion contributions DVTV

Bachelor thesis focuses on linguistic analysis of discussion's contributions of journalistic video channel DVTV (Drtinová and Veselovský TV). The thesis also pays attention to moderator's method to conduct dialogue between him and his guest in selected interviews. The theoretical part summarizes the fundamental characteristics of matter-of-fact and journalistic functional styles with regard to spoken journalism. The next chapter is concerned with founding and activities of DVTV. This part of the thesis is concluded with characteristics of the interview and its conception within DVTV. The main practical part is dedicated to analysis of conduct dialogue between moderator and his guest and the linguistic analysis itself. The analysis is provided a in four linguistic levels - phonetic-phonological, morfological, syntactic and lexical. The main aim is to prove a reflection of spoken elements in the area of written communication.
Interpropositional Relations (Temporal Relations) in Spanish Publicistic Texts

The object of the present thesis is an analysis of expressions of interpropositional relations in Spanish publicistic texts with a view to temporal relations. The aim of the work is to describe all linguistic possibilities that Spanish language has for establish the temporal relations between two propositions and find out informations about their frequency. The thesis is divided in the two main parts. The first part is theoretic and presents an introduction to the concept of interpropositional relations, describes the expressions of temporal relations and tries to characterize the Spanish publicistic texts. In the second ? practical part of the thesis there are presented the above mentioned analysis and the interpretation of its results. The final part of the thesis is made by Spanish Summary.
