Structure and Properties of Selected Magnesium Cast Alloys
Svozil, Libor ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Podrábský, Tomáš (advisor)
Microstructure and mechanical properties of AZ91 magnesium alloy after die cast (casting under pressure) and squeeze casting were comparated. The compare of incident phases, their microhardness, gas bubbles in the alloy, hardness and other mechanical properties of alloy are included in this work. For compare has been used a light microscopy, tensile test, hardness and microhardness measurements, image analysis and scaning electron microscopy.
X-ray micro-tomography characterization of voids caused by three-point bending in selected alkali-activated aluminosilicate composite

This paper deals with the pilot characterization of a special alkali-activated aluminosilicate composite composed of waste brick powder, brick rubble and a solution of potassium water glass. Fracture tests were conducted on the specimens via three-point bending and fracture parameters were evaluated. Selected specimen was investigated using micro-tomography to supplement the results with visual information about the inner structure of this newly designed material before and after the mechanical loading. Tomographic measurements and image processing were conducted for a qualitative and quantitative assessment of changes in the internal structure with an emphasis on the calculation of porosimetric parameters and visualization of the fracture surface. Fractal dimension of fracture surface was estimated.
On the milling technology of thin-walled parts for aerospace industry
Ohnišťová, Petra ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the analysis and on the design of the milling technology of the components for the aerospace industry which are characterised by a high aspect ratio, reduced stiffness and all covered by a high demand on the fatigue performance. This work includes the experimental verification of the proposed technology using CNC machining center, evaluation of surface structure using optical high-resolution 3D surface measurement system ALICONA, analysis of the force loading using KISTLER device, fatigue testing and fatigue fracture analysis.
