Use of Aeronautical Technology for Forest Fire Control in the Czech Republic
Sklenář, Filip ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Imriš, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare several types of patrol and firefighting airplanes based on their operational, technical and economical characteristics. The thesis also includes an analysis of their particular parameters and description of their specifications in respect to fire protection. The outcome of this thesis is evaluation of the most proper airplane for patrolling and firefighting.
Hodnocení stavu a vývoje sukcese po lesním požáru na kalamitní holině v revíru Janov, LS Jeseník – Lesy ČR, s. p.
Kmínková, Michaela
This bachelor's thesis concern with the investigation of the state and development of the secondary succession after the forest fire, which occurred in 2018 on a calamitous clearcut in the area of Janov, LS Jeseník - LČR, s. p. with a size of 6.75 ha. The assessment method was to evaluate the data from the field survey on 5 test plots, where I determined the type of tree species and forest regeneration, given dendrometric parameters - height and accrue, representation of the tree floor, I also evaluated the damage of regeneration and the development of unwanted vegetation. These values were measured in circular plots with a number in the range of 25 – 33. The plots were located both at the site of the fire and outside of it, with and without fencing. Aspen (Populus tremula L.) was the most numerous tree species in the area under investigation, with the largest presence in the area of the fire with fencing. With the greatest increase in height, the willow (Salix caprea L.) dominated here. The most frequently occurring damage was bite and frost damage occurring on the fireground outside the fence. Therefore, fencing proved to be an effective protection against game in this locality. The area outside the fence and the fireground was covered the most with unwanted plants.
Remote sensing as a forest management tool in Sub-Himalayan area in India
Kunwar, Haruhit
The Himalayan forests in India are home to very distinguished Himalayan flora and fauna, and the local population and livestock rely on forests because of the agrarian economy and pastoralism. The implementation of Remote Sensing and geotechnology tools in Forestry (precise forestry), has proved to support forest management. The sub-Himalayan area in India is one such region, that is largely forested and needs an application of Remote Sensing in Forest Management. This work has incorporated several geotechnology tools through which satellite imagery was processed and analyzed to have the outputs that will aid the foresters and forest managers with understanding the critical areas and implementing forest management plan with accuracy and precision, along with saving a lot of time.
Analysis of a suitable aircraft for extinguishing forest fires in the Czech Republic
Kejval, Ondřej ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Sklenář, Filip (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make an overview of firefighting aircraft commonly used in the world and to choice a suitable type for fighting forest fires in the Czech Republic with regard to Czech Republic characteristics. The thesis contains airplane and helicopter usability comparison, survey of forest fire count and firefighting aircraft deployment count in Czech Republic. The thesis also contains pilot qualifications requirements for practising aerial firefighting in Czech Republic.
Simulator of Fire Spreading Based on Cellular Automata
Daniš, Daniel ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Žák, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design and implementation of forest fire simulator based on cellular automaton. Text of the thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In theoretical part the reader will be acknowledged with the domain of cellular automaton. Consequently, the model for the prediction of forest fire behavior will be described and the calculations for various parameters and particular coefficients of this model will be presented. Practical part of the thesis contains description of simulator architecture as well as key aspects of its implementation. Moreover, the emphasis is being placed on experiments with simulator and consecutive testing of its validity. The results of the thesis are: simulator, graphical application usable for the purposes of forest fire spreading prediction in different conditions.

Function of local government authorities and suggestion for methodical plan to adress the extensive forest fire.
KLEČATSKÁ, Lucie
As the title suggests, this diploma thesis is focused on the activities of self-governing bodies in the event of extensive forest fires. First, the theoretical part describes general information about forest fires that concerns, among other things, the most common causes and kinds of forest fires. Drawing on this part, there is information on various ways of extinguishing fires, especially by means of the aerial fire-fighting service. The chapter of The Present State is further focused on legislation and the tasks of self-governing bodies in the event of extensive forest fires because the competences and duties of mayors have to be clearly defined in such serious situations, which consequently enhances the clarity of the situation. This diploma thesis follows two objectives. The first one is the evaluation of the activities of self-governing bodies in the event of extensive forest fires, and in connection with this, pointing out possible flaws. For this, a hypothesis has been established claiming that it is necessary to increase the readiness quality of the self-governing bodies for the possible occurrence of extensive forest fires. The other objective is to prepare a methodical process draft for solving an extensive forest fire. The output of the thesis is a methodical draft or manual, which should support the preparation for and solution of such situations. This final thesis will provided as a study material for students. The methodical draft will be further offered to mayors of municipalities that are endangered by forest fires.
