Factors Influencing the Success of Public Collections in the South Bohemian Region
ŠKODOVÁ, Lucie
This thesis describes the South-Bohemian public fund-raising campaigns running from 2001 to 2015. In particular, it deals with their organizers and goals and highlights some of the main factors influencing their success. The goal of this thesis is what motivates and attracts donors the most. There are some questions to be answered: Are the donors willing to financially support other people in need from their neighbourhood or organizations that help children, handicapped or elderly people? Do people rather support protection of landmarks or abandoned animals? Do donors help because of their own publicity purposes or pleasure? This work focuses on the public funds as one of the most used social support to find out the recent trends the intensity and frequency of financial amounts. The main data source for my work is the South-Bohemian Register of the public fund-raising campaigns. The specific recent campaigns are presented and their outcomes, frequency, intensity, goals and donors are compared, considering mainly their success. All the data are investigated thoroughly by means of quantitative secondary analysis.
