The Ideal of Chivalrous Sovereign. The Case of Czech Medieval Alexandrian Epic

My final thesis, based on study of primary and secondary sources, is focused on the idea of sovereign around 1300 AD. Old-Czech poem Alexandreida and German version Alexander of Ulrich von Etzenbach are used as primary repository of information. Thesis follows both of them and in their comparison shows, how the idea was formulated. Final thesis deals also with works of historians, literary historians and German studies related to its topic. The goal is not an linguistic analysis but to evaluate the poems as an historiographic source, on which we can study medieval notions of rulers and their role in society. Second main task for this final thesis is to reconstruct niveau of bohemian court surrounding King of Bohemia at the end of 13th century, where the poems were originally written. In the end, thesis describes so called "court culture" in the relation to both of Alexandrian poems and their influence in bohemia society.

Concentration Camp as a Topic in German Literature

This thesis deals with the topic of the Nazi concentration camps in German literature. At the beginning of the work the historical background and the most important dates and events from the history of the concentration camps will be described. It will be continued by the general description of the topic in German literature and the attitude of society in the postwar period. In the last chapter three works with the theme of concentration camps from every literary genre will be analysed in detail. From drama it will be The trial by Peter Weiss, then the poem Death Fugue by Paul Celan and finally the novel Naked among Wolves by Bruno Apitz. Apart of the interpretations of works the emphasis will be put on the lives of the authors, for better understanding. The main subject of this thesis will be to approach the topic of concentration camps in German literature, historical background and attitude to this topic in the postwar period. AUBRECHTOVÁ, Lucie
The main aim of the following bachelor thesis is an interpretation of the antique motives in the chosen epic collections by Jaroslav Vrchlický. The goals are to observe the frequency in which these motives appear in each of these collections via a comparison of the differences in their utility and a determination of their place in the structure of the unit. The largest part of the thesis is devoted to the actual analysis of the antique motives from a content and formal point of view. Emphasis is put on the manner of the composition of the individual motives, their inclusion in the context of the works and the choice of language means.
How to write a literary story

This work deals with the methodology of the creation of a literary story. Its aim is to provide the reader with advices from literary active writers, who were somehow engaged in this issue in the past. This work is divided into four parts. The first part is concerned with inborn and gained dispositions which the author should have. The second part introduces the story and its planning to the reader. The third part is about the process of creation a separate story. And the last one the fourth part deals with the process of correction.
Minnesing and court literature at the court of last members of Přemysl's dynasty and the first membe luxembourg's dynasty

Qualifying work has interdisciplinary charakter. This work is concentrate on knowledge of history and culture of age last members of Přemysl´s dynasty and the first members of Luxembourg´s dynasty. The primary aim of work is to identify the conditions under which there is courtly literature and minnesing on the courts of these rulers. Next aim is using the comparative method to define the basic topics in prose and poetry. The secondary aim is recognizing influence of German and Latin literature domestic and foreign on literature written in Czech. The work ?Minnesing and court literature at the court of last members of Přemysl's dynasty and the first members of Luxembourg's dynasty? deals with years 1283?1306 and 1310?1333 taking into account also past years.
