Influence of a professional health clown on a sick child.
KNĚŽÍNKOVÁ, Anna
The thesis deals with the characteristics of professional medical clowns' work. The description of theoretical knowledge contains a brief history of the medical clowning tradition in the world, and within the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the hospital clowns' role, and their professional and personal traits are described as well. The theory of therapy by laughter and the hospital clowns' influence on hospitalized children are also described within the thesis. The practical section of the thesis summarizes the results of the conducted research, a part of which was an active observation of medical clowns at their actual work, a structured interview, and an open-end question questionnaire.
