Naturkulturstadt Brno Židenice – Local community center, reflection on tradition and autonomy
Vaculíková, Klára ; Bindr, Tomáš (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
The work deals with the recovery of the cultural landscape in the locality of contrasting polarities of the city and the village, that were joined together, and what this junction means for urbanity and for the landscape.
Pedodiverzita vybraných ekotonů na přechodu lesní porost - palouk na území Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny
Bydžovský, Radek
Ecotones and their environments are often referred to as areas of significant diversity that condition the interactions of neighbouring ecosystems. Manifestations of ecotone community diversity can be observed, for example in the species composition of flora and fauna. However, this bachelor thesis examines the characters of the soil environment of this ecosystem and compares it with enviroment of a forest and a meadow. Evaluated soil diversity parameters are active and potential soil reactions, soil catalase enzyme aktivity, C, N, S element content and possible carbonate content. The evaluation of these soil characteristics was carried out in the three selected sites. The significant dynamics of the ecotone environment was confirmed in the case of soil reaction. Catalase also showed different activity rates in the ecotone area. A similar finding was confirmed in the case of the analysed elements C, N and S. Based on the evaluated parameters, the ecotone area shows a significant different character of the soil environment. However, the character and degree of manifestation in ecotone area are very closely linked to the characteristics of the individual habitats.

SPATIAL PATTERN OF TREES WITHIN TREELINE ECOTONE
Zákravská, Šárka ; Treml, Václav (advisor) ; Demková, Katarína (referee)
The main part of my bachelor thesis is focused on treeline advance and on its spatial pattern especially. The theoretic part is consisted of a description of basic properties, hypothesis of treeline formation, current treeline movements in chosen European mountains and their potentional explanations. The aim of the practical part was to discover whether the type of spatial pattern affects treeline dynamics. Namely, the western part of the Giant Mountains was taken as a surveyed teritory. Ortorectified aerial photographes from years 1936 and 1964 were used when doing comparison. Spatial pattern was counted by "Ripley's K-function" and by the method of "Average Nearest Neighbour" on 110 defined squares (size 30 m) in the expanding part of the ecotone and on 110 defined squares in its stagnation part. Results don't indicate that some type of spatial pattern support treeline advance. The same spatial pattern was found both in major parts of stagnation and the expanding part of the ecotone.
Interakce mezi vybranými fyzikálními a chemickými půdními vlastnostmi v krajinném měřítku: detailní studie lokality Rudice na základě cíleného postižení prostorové heterogenity půdy v krajině
Vichta, Tomáš
In this bachelor thesis are assessed specified interacting physical and chemical soil properties of two main ecosystems (forest ecosystem, permanent grassland ecosystem) and their ecotone. Specifically, the detected soil properties, was determined by active soil reaction, soil reaction potential exchangeable, oxidizable carbon, total nitrogen, maximum capillary water capacity and minimum air capacity. For researches were chosen heterogeneous research area Rudice at TFE Křtiny Ml, the region of the Drahanska highland. In the work was used data obtained from spring 2016 (April), which has been then compared with data from autumn 2016 (October) and subsequently with each other, from physico-chemical point of view. Has been found that between some soil properties there was a change of values in two sampling dates and has been proved some certain correlation relationships between specified soil properties in permanent grassland ecosystem.
Strom a půda: studium horizontální hloubky dosahu vlivu stromu z pohledu biochemie
Colledani, Pavel
This bachelor thesis is dealing with a topic of soil biochemistry, which is rather modern in arboriculture. The autor chose measuring of soils two most common aminoacids -glutamic acid and aspartic acid, in an A horizon and a depth od 5 centimeters. The basic hypothesis was to find a common conlusion for both of them. The hypothesis was proven on the the area with the most rainfall. If the location is not limited by the quantity of water, we can that organic matter in soil is dependant on temperatures at the location. Urban trees are almost always at soils altered by humans, with not much organicc material and organic matter is the only thing that makes the soils fertile. We have to state that this study is important for arboriculture because of the analysis relationship between soil and climate of the location.
Půdní oxidovatelný uhlík a stanovení poměru huminových kyselin a fulvokyselin vybraných studijních ploch (les, ekoton, orná půda louka/pastvina)
Sochor, Lukáš
: Target of this bachelor work was to compare quantity, quality and seasonal dynamics of oxidizable carbon and ratio of humic acids and fulvic acids on selected areas of interest: forest, ecoton, arable soil and permanent grassland. Soil samples have been taken for the period of growing season in 2015, on 5 selected localities in 30 m long transect in ecoton, forest and to permanent grassland (eventually arable soil). Results were valorized in the cases of: seasonal dynamics examined variables, content of organic substances (Cox) in soil and their quality (HK:FK), influence of mesoclimate to quantity and quality of organic matter in soil. More oxidizable carbon was in both horizonts (A-5cm, B-40cm) in forest. Ecoton effect is markable only on the coldest locality. On the warmest locality we can see, that ecoton effect has the same character of evolution as agricultural soil. On the wettest locality we can see, that ecoton effect has the same character of evolution as forest soil. On the driest locality is not markable ecoton effect.
"The Living Landscape" Project - Czech Perspective
VEBER, Tomáš
This thesis deals with the phenomenon of ecological recovery of ecotone backyard, a specific phenomenon in rural areas of the Czech Republic, focusing on the one hand synchronously, partly diachronic. Theoretically, based on the scientific literature discusses the topic first as a phenomenon in itself, then focuses on the description of the possibilities that may be related to the maintenance or revitalization of the ecotone recover or regain, both in the dimension of eco-environmentalist, and in the dimension of socio-ethnographic.
