Krydl, Ondřej ; Tajovský, Ladislav (advisor) ; Jeřábková, Zdenka (referee)
In 1973 the first oil crisis took place, which negatively affected all economies that are dependent on imported oil. In my thesis I deal with the impact of oil crisis on the development of energy policy in the United States. U.S. lawmakers adopted a series of measures and laws that were aimed at achieving energy independence the U.S. on imported fossil fuels. These laws place emphasis on the growth of domestic production and implementation of cost-effective energy saving technologies. The thesis explains the main reason for non-fulfillment of targets of energy programs, analyzes the factors which influenced the development of the oil market, and provides a comparison between the actual development of the energy with the development planned.
