Question 2: What educational methods do nurses apply with clients prior to surgical procedures? Question 3: What positive aspects do clients perceive when working with educational cards? The inquiry took place in the Znojmo Hospital with the matron?s kind permission. To achieve successful results in her work, the author applied qualitative examination, the method of a questionnaire, the technique of a non-standardized interview. The object of the inquiry consisted of clients and nurses of the surgical ward. The results of the present bachelor work can be used further in practice, e.g. the created educational cards can be left at the surgical ward at patients? disposal for the whole period of their hospitalization. Is to propose a unification, consolidation and simplification of information given to a client so that the educational process might be transparent, effective and acceptable for general (patient) public.
