Knowledge of pedagogical workers to provide the first aid for children with epilepsy.
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Tereza
Theoretical assumptions Epilepsy belongs to one of the most common neurological disorders. People usually have their first epileptic seizure at about the age of 20. As the age group mostly in danger of a seizure occurrence are the children of a school age, it is vital to study this disorderamong this particular group. As childrenspend a lot of time with their school staff, it is consequently very likely that a seizure happens at school. This bachelor thesis analyses the knowledge and experience of educators in the area of the first aid for children with epilepsy. The theoretical part deals with the history of epilepsy - its definition, causes, the types of epileptic seizures and epilepsy syndromes. It also describes the crucialrole of a nurse in diagnosing epileptic seizures. Furthermore, it analyses the epilepsy treatment and primarily focuses on seizure first aid, medication and types connected to this disorder. As is also set out in this thesis, the professional qualification of a nurse gives him or her the opportunity to educate others about this disorder and disorder-related practices. The thesis also studies the available information about children suffering from this disorder and the ways educators are being prepared for working with these children in the course of their university studies and following professional life. The last part describes the role of a school nurse; a functionessential for school life nurses provide in foreign countries, but one which is wholly absent in Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis This bachelor thesis aims to analyse the knowledge of educators in the area of first aid for children with epilepsy. This aim is interconnected with a research question that attempts to establish the knowledge of educators about first aid for children with epilepsy. Methodology My research was based on a quantitative analysis of anonymous questionnaires that had been distributed, with the oral approval of directors of said elementary schools, amongst nine elementary schools in the South-Bohemian Region (in the cities of Písek and České Budějovice). I have distributed 225 questionnaires andthe return rate was 166 questionnaires. Respondents were supposed to answer 22 questions (the aim of two questions was to achieve personal identification). My research was conducted in February 2014. The acquired data was analysed with statistical methods and appropriate statistical tools (determined averages and percentages) and the results were clearly demonstrated through graphs. Results While the conclusion of the data acquired from respondents was that the educators have sufficient knowledge in the area of seizure first aid, it was also revealed that they are not well acquainted with medication and its application used in seizure first aid. Even though the educators are (to a great deal) acquainted with first aid procedures, the majority of them is interested in improving their knowledge of first aid. Conclusions This research answers the set research question. Educators have sufficient knowledge of first aid procedures; however, they are not acquainted with a proper medication and its use. Taking into account the active interest of educators in first aid training, a nurse may organise theoretical and practical first aid sessions focused on children epilepsy seizure first aid to introduce further cooperation with elementary school teachers. While for the majority of people is the profession of a nurse connected to hospitals, her or his role is much more far-reaching. Many professional roles of a nurse are easily applicable outside hospitals - for example in schools a nurse may find him/herself involved in a variety of functions in education, prevention and distribution of information about child daily regime measures.

Priorities of school club
NOVÁKOVÁ, Radka
In my dissertation I focused on the priorities of Bernard Bolzano o.p.s. school club in Tábor. In the theoretic part of my dissertation I mention leisure time in connection with children, historical development of leisure time pedagogy, functions, forms and activities of interest education, relationships and communication, definition of a school club and its advantages, school club participants, framework education programme and key competencies. In the practical part of the dissertation I made a research on priorities of a school club. On this basis I created various hypotheses. The veracity or inveracity of the hypotheses should have been verified by a questionnaire formed by research questions. Special additional questions of a structured dialogue with parents and educators of the school club served to specify the research. The evaluation of questionnaires and dialogues has brought the verification of the hypotheses.

The Czech - German dialog at life and writings of nationalist, priest and educator František Pravda
BÍLKOVÁ, Martina
Submitted diploma thesis describes the life of priest František Pravda, born Vojtěch Hlinka. He was well-known writer and founder of short stories with rural theme. The thesis introduces Hlinka as a writer, but primarily as a man of many other professions and interests. The way of life brought him to Hrádek u Sušice to work for an aristocratic family of Sturmfeders. Attention is concerned with mutual relations between the Czech patriot and four generations of German baronial family. Hlinka worked as an educator of feeble-minded Ottokar Sturmfeder in Hrádek´s castle. His extraordinary psychopaedics talent is compared with usual provincial and European contemporary standards. There is also depicted Hlinka´s political, writing and religion career and his other interests. The thesis doesn´t overlook Hlinka´s contacts with important representatives of artistic and political life, which helps to complete the picture of Hlinka´s personality.
Evaluation of the activities of the German educational and therapeutic facility Frostenwalde
ZAPLETALOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis deals with the issues of the German educational and therapeutic facility Frostenwalde as an alternative to detention for juveniles. The educational and therapeutic facility Frostenwalde, which falls under successful German organization Evangelisches Jugend-und Fürsorgewerk (the Evangelical Care for Youth and Needy), works under the project Menschen statt Mauern/People instead the walls. The first part deals with this issue from a theoretical point of view. It outlines an explanation of the Menschen statt Mauern project; it focuses on the analysis of the legislative basis for the possible establishment of similar facility in the Czech Republic and it describes the structure and activities of this facility. The combination of qualitative and quantitative research was chosen to handle the second part. The first technique of data collection was a semi-structured interview that contained open-ended questions. Additional questions and more specific questions were also asked. The respondent group consisted of selected employees of the Frostenwalde facility. The second technique was a content analysis of numerical data. Statistical data on the facility operation was analyzed. The objective of the thesis was to evaluate the activities of the German educational and therapeutic facility Frostenwalde through a set of research questions. The aim of the research questions was to find out about the effectiveness of Frostenwalde and about the motivation of Frostenwalde employees for their activities. Based on the results obtained through the research, I concluded that the Frostenwalde facility is more effective and more acceptable alternative to detention for the overall development of juveniles. The research also showed that a prerequisite for the functioning of this type of facility is a perfectly coordinated, respectful team composed of experts in their profession. The motivation of all the employees is considered to be an important factor. In my opinion, the Czech Republic joining the Menschen statt Mauern project and building a similar facility would benefit in new opportunities for life without punishment of young people committing offences. This thesis may serve as a source of comprehensive information on the Frostenwalde facilities for potential employees of similar facilities and the general public.
Integration of the disabled kindergarten children
BOČANOVÁ, Petra
This thesis aims at problems that we face when integrating the disabled pre-school children among healthy (intact) children. To add to theoretical information that I found in printed and electronic resources, there is a complex scientific survey that involved especially pedagogical opinions - kindergarten teachers - and those opinions and attitude of the parents whose children now attend kindergartens. when evaluating the result of the theses, I believe that the aim was fairly, yet surfficiently met. Fairly - bacause there are lot of various problems that did not get the attention required. Surprisingly, the results show, both teachers and parents practically agreed on positive approach if we consider integrating children with special needs of education in the kindergarten environment.
