School success for children with ADHD syndrome
KUČEROVÁ, Lenka
The ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a debated issue among the general public, teachers and other experts, but the general awareness of this diagnosis is unsatisfactory nevertheless. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic terms characterizing the ADHD. It also includes the factors that influence the school success of those children, the information about the attitude towards them and their education. The aim of the research is to assess the school success of children with ADHD and to gather enough information to be able to find the reasons for their failure. The main research question is: What is the school success of children with ADHD at a primary school in Benešov near Prague?. Further research is aimed at children with ADHD and their success in learning, in the adaptation to the classroom and in leisure activities. The formulated hypotheses are based on a secondary data analysis and on semi-structured interviews with the teachers. In the conclusion of the thesis, I would like to acquaint the public with the problems that make the natural way of education of children with ADHD impossible and with different possible solutions to this situation.
