Plant biomass production on grasslands restored on former arable land
Křivská, Aneta ; Mudrák, Ondřej (advisor) ; Bitomský, Martin (referee)
The White Carpathian meadows are among the species richest plant communities in the world, yet a large area of them has been ploughed in the past. Despite the abandonment of intensive farming and the subsequent effort to restore the original species richness of the former arable land over the last 20 years, there are still differences between the meadows which were previously used for agricultural production and the well-preserved ancient reference meadows. To understand why this is so, it may be helpful to measure the dynamics of plant biomass production over the year and whether it differs between these two types of meadows. The research was conducted in three pairs of White Carpathian meadows on two dates - at the beginning of the growing season in May and right before mowing in June 2023. In all pairs of meadows, occurring in close proximity to each other, one of the meadows was restored after previous ploughing and the other was ancient. At each meadow, I have sampled aboveground biomass in five 40 × 40 cm plots and sorted it into functional groups (graminoids, legumes, and forbs - i.e. non-leguminous dicots) and into dead biomass, dried and weighed. In average, more biomass tended to occur in the restored meadows, but this difference was formed mainly by dead biomass, which was more abundant...
Průzkum dynamiky růstu rychle rostoucích dřevin a jejich využití v krajinářské architektuře
Miksová, Lenka
This thesis focuses on the fast-growing deciduous trees. The literature review summarized the information about fast-growing species, their attributes, advantages, disadvantages, possibilities of utilization (especially in landscape architecture), principles of cultivation. Selected species were described, categorized and the assortment was analysed. The aim of practical part was based on the original field research to evaluate growing dynamics of nine species of deciduous trees (a maximum of ten years after planting). Were assessed 225 trees of the model area in biocentre Ráječek in Brno - Černovice. Following attributes were assessed: height, trunk circumference, annual growth of the terminal and annual growth of six other shoots.
Maize growing in terms of selected agricultural company

The thesis follows up an assessment of germination and growth dynamics of maze, in relation to different processing of soil in the region of Kozojed in North Pilsen. This experiment was conducted in the year 2016. In utter overview of the thesis, we can find a description of the technological procedure of maze cultivation, and individual technological procedures of soil preparation in more detail. In the resultant part of the thesis, we find the evaluation of germination, height, number of plants per m2 (squared meter), and average number of sticks per plant; further evaluation of WTG (Weight of thousand grains) of individual growers' technologies, and the most important overall produce of maze biomass in four variants of soil processing. Examined variants in the thesis are as follows: Sowing into deeply processed soil (underlay), Sowing into stubble, Sowing into loosened soil (disk plow), Sowing into tillage. The results showed that in provided soil-climatic conditions the best came out maze that was sown into stubble. In total biomass yield was option No. 3. sowing in loosened soil, where the resulting income, 30, 21 t.ha-1. From variants No. 1. seed to uderlay it was 0,93 t.ha-1 and No. 2. sowing into stubble to 3,57 t.ha-1 less than option No. 1. The highest difference was in variant No. 4 in the plow, where the biomass yield was by 7.26 t.ha-1 lower than in variant No. 3.

Thesis deals with evaluation of growing up of maize in dependence on different kind of soil tillage in area around Polička. Experiment was performed in year 2015. In literary review is described technology of maize cultivation and analysed issues of soil tillage. As practical research we assessed growing up of maize in five variants of soil tillage - direct sowing into flail with digestate, direct sowing into flail without digestate, low rotivation, deep rotivation and ploughing in spring. Results of monitoring showed that maize on land processed with deep rotivation grew up the best, in the given soil-climatic conditions.
Assessment of phenotypic variation of commercial cultivars and wild populations of Phalaris arundinacea in experimental conditions
JANUŠ, Vojtěch
The bachelor thesis is part of the project AMVIS 20-LH 11039. This work is aimed at evaluating the growth characteristic and phenotypic variation of wild populations and commercial cultivars of Reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) in experimental conditions. Within the frame of this project an experiment was established at the Institute of Botany in Třeboň. Within the Bc Thesis, morphological characteristics of the studied plants were investigated during the vegetation period, 26.6.?18.9.2012. A destructive method was used for aboveground biomass sampling at the end of experiment. Plants from native populations had higher values of studied characteristics than commercial cultivars. The highest value of aboveground biomass had population from the area of Dyje river (433 g).
