Estimation of drug trade as a part of illegal economy

Drug trade is a part of non-observed economy in the system of national accounts. Estimations of drug trade were made from demand side based on estimation of drug consumption. This needs estimations of drug users, which was possible to estimate from drug use prevalence in last year. Several surveys done in society were the data source. Other information from the surveys was information about frequency of drug use. Several research studies gave information about consumed drug quantity by one opportunity. Police and customs have a common database about drug seizures. The database is source for information about import and export of drugs, drug purities by production or import and by consumption or export. Police reports drug prices also. The physical indicators of the drug trade are recalculated by wholesale and retail prices into financial indicators, which are possible to record into system of national accounts.
The Effectiveness of opiate substance treatment

The thesis deals with a substance treatment of opiate addiction and determines drug abuse problems. The paper defines free and regulated market and describes drug prohibition compared with alcohol prohibition. The next part considers the theory of substitute and complement which is a basis for determination of a substance treatment. The goal of thesis is evaluating the effectiveness of substance treatment in the Czech Republic by force of cost-benefits analysis with current information. The empiric part is based upon the information about costs of substance treatment and about lost productivity. The effectiveness of substance treatment is confirmed, the amount gives after deductions for expenses an affirmative value. The next conclusion is positive appraisal of effectiveness of partial financing of Subutex, that is paid by consumer presently.
Generic vs. original drugs or how compete each other on the Czech market

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to clarify mutual competition between original and generics drugs on drugs markets. It is necessary to identify all aspects which we can meet on drug market and which play a significant role in the competition. The description of these aspects is described in the theoretical part of this assignment which is (together with graphic model of original and generics competition) the main theoretical basis for the practical part. In the practical part the analysis of competition process is carried out by descriptive analysis. The analysis is especially aimed at changes in quantity and prices of the original drug and gives answers to why these changes happened. The conclusion is devoted to spending on research and development of new drug. By means of practical example and also of all information which are mentioned in this work, this part answers the question which measurements of drug and state policy are suitable or unsuitable for research and development of new drugs.
