Analysis of the location of collection points and containers for municipal waste
Silný, Marek ; Pluskal, Jaroslav (referee) ; Nevrlý, Vlastimír (advisor)
In waste management, it is crucial to design the collection network appropriately. This paper was aimed at identifying the main factors that influence the motivation of citizens to sort waste and, based on these factors, to design an optimized collection network for the recoverable components of municipal waste. A detailed research was carried out to describe the current legislation in the Czech Republic in the field of waste management, to explain the waste sorting and collection system and to find factors that could influence the motivation to sort based on previous studies. Based on this research, a questionnaire was then designed to assign importance to these factors and two networks were subsequently designed using different distance measurement methods. The paper found that sufficient capacity of a collection point was a more important aspect than the walking distance to that point. For the design of a collection network, it is not appropriate to consider the distance between collection points as the distance by air, but rather the distance by infrastructure.
Optimization of Location of Railway Stops in Track Section Znojmo - Okříšky
Kubina, Jiří ; Hoza, Miroslav (referee) ; Svoboda, Richard (advisor)
The bachelor thesis "Optimization of Location of Railway Stops in Track Section Znojmo - Okříšky" deals with assessing the current state of the location of railway stops and railway stations in the track section in terms of walking distance to built-up areas of municipalities. If the walking distance is unsatisfactory the thesis offers solution by transferring the railway stop to a more suitable location or by building a new stop in accordance with applicable laws and standards. Moreover, the work designs access roads to the newly built or transferred stops. Design of newly constructed stops is presented. The work also deals with the current municipal bus service and takes it into account in the decision making. The paper considered only minor adjustments to the track geometry.
Mathematical models in strategic decision-making
Khýr, Lukáš ; Popela, Pavel (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis deals with various mathematical models, which can be used for designing the location of collection points for various fractions of municipal waste with consideration of walking distance, economic demands and utilization of allocated capacities. Scripts for generating input datasets for applied models from basic input data, which are address points with population and GPS coordinates, is also included in the thesis. The model was implemented in GAMS and the script was written in VBA in Microsoft Excel. Model was used in case study. Results of single and multi-criteria approaches are analyzed and compared.
Prelouc - Hermanuv Mestec Track Speed Increase
Prikner, David ; Javořík,, Tomáš (referee) ; Dušek, Erik (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on increasing the track speed in the section of the Přelouč - Heřmanův Městec railway line. The thesis includes an analysis of the track geometry and proposes several variants to enhance the track speed by the track geometry optimisation. The individual variants are compared, and alternative methods to reduce the travel time and improve the line section attractiveness are examined.
