Approaches to the implementation of document imaging systems
Kapicová, Eva ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Vondrouš, Martin (referee)
This thesis is focused on document imaging and describes different approaches to the implementation of document imaging systems. In the first part there is the theoretical background of the document imaging that is supplemented by current statistics. In the first part there are also some remarks on the situation on the Czech market. The second part is based on examinations of different approaches to document imaging systems that were made by Czech companies. The main objective of this thesis is a practical example of selecting an appropriate solution of the document imaging. There are considered three types of approaches to the document imaging: complete outsourcing, in-house outsourcing or a solution of their own. To achieve this goal there is an adequate theoretical basis for the document imaging and an overview of hardware and software support for digitization in the first part of the thesis. TEI method by Forrester Research is used for comparison of the economic impact of the different approaches. The contribution of this thesis is primarily in the description of the state of document imaging in the Czech Republic and also examination of different solutions and approaches to the document imaging. There is also a completion of the theoretical part by a data from current surveys.
Comparing approaches to digitisation of documents in companies
Škrobánková, Jana ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Kasner, Jiří (referee)
The present Bachelor thesis is focused on the document flow system from conception or admission of documents to the company to their keeping. In particular, the present thesis indicates which documents are passing through the company, who of the employees is working with them, which of the documents are being transformed into a digital medium, which form of document continues to be used within the company (digital or paper format) and which are the benefits of digitisation of documents for the company's employees. In order to provide a comparison, this thesis will describe two companies of different sizes. The introduction explains the terms used in this thesis to which the people can, and often do, attribute other meaning. The following part describes the two observed companies and all the data concerning the documents being used by them which I have already mentioned in this chapter. The final part contains a comparison between the two companies, in particular as regards documents flow and assessment by employees of documents digitisation.

Whole spectrum of possibilities is opening for companies during the time of expansion information and communication technologies. These possibilities could help companies to be more effective. The Market offer more than one solution of each problem but each solution has different cost and functionality. These facts are reasons why importance of consulting and analytical work has been growing. We need type people, who solve the intellectual, terminological and ideological misunderstanding between producer and customer Department where I work and write my bachelor thesis has problems and thus has room for improvement. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the problems and come up with the spectrum of possibilities that solves them. I use my theoretic knowledge from university and my practical experience from work during analysis. At first I want to describe department`s environment and then the processes. After the description I will be able to identify critical places and propose their optimization. The Function of OCR Technology and its Usage in Document Processing
Pouzar, Aleš ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Krsek, Libor (referee)
Owing to a boom of information technologies optical character recognition has recently become a popular and affordable technology, enabling an effective way of sharing a large amount of information stored in paper documents. This work deals with systems for document conversion of analog data into electronic and editable form. It outlines the main methodology of OCR technology, evaluates a performance of OCR applications and analyses the contribution of imaging technologies through the benchmark tests on the set of paper documents.
