Sheeting of Foundation Pit
Vodáček, Ondřej ; Chalmovský, Juraj (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
First part of the thesis talks about pit sheeting in general, including shafts and trenches as well as pits, however pits are the very main topic and therefore described in details. This part also discusses earth pressure and groundwater issues as applied loads, yet only marginally. Second part demonstrates a particular sheeting structure and its calculation. All presumptions are established here, including double-anchored sheet pile wall geometry, spoken earth pressure loads and groundwater loads plus heavy equipment load during a construction. The calculating process is shown using computer softwares (Plaxis 2D, GEO5) and also in a non-software way using just pen and paper. At the very end of thesis an ultimate limit state (ULS) of sheet piles is assessed, software and non-software results are compared to each other and discussed.
Design of retaning structure in the Brno- sever district
Koporec, Vladimír ; Koudela, Pavel (referee) ; Miča, Lumír (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of the sheet pile construction of the construction pit of the underground car park of a multifunctional house in Brno and its impact on the adjacent tunnel. The design and assessment of the sheet pile structure is developed on the basis of the results obtained in the GEO5 program. For a more detailed analysis of the impact of the proposed sheet pile structure on the adjacent tunnel, a numerical analysis is performed in the PLAXIS 2D program. As part of this analysis, a study of the influence of the material model (Mohr-Columb, Hardening soil and Hardening soil small) on the change of deformations and internal forces in the tunnel is made. The results of the work show the interaction between the proposed structure and the tunnel.
Foundation design of River Garden III in Prague
Malinský, Martin ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
The topic of this master's thesis are the design of ensuring foundation pit and foundation of administrative building in Prague. In the vicinity of foundation pit is situated the river Vltava, which directly influences the ground water level at the job site. During construction, it is necessary to envisage the possibility of occurrence of the old building structures of docks.

Holba, Radek ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis is about securing of deep foundation pit. In first part there are explained types of securing, their advantages and disadvantages. In second part there is static appraisal of diaphragm wall in software program Plaxis 2D. In the end of this thesis there is technological process of building this diaphragm wall.
Modelling of diaphragm walls using time-dependent elasto-plastic material model
Šindelářová, Daniela ; Kotačková, Alena (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was the verification of the advanced time-dependent elasto-plastic material model for modeling diaphragm walls. Currently, this type of construction is solved usually with a combination of linear-elastic volume and plate elements. To express time-dependent behaviour, there are both, volume and plate, elements active in short-term conditions, then only volume elements in long-term conditions, while plate elements are deactivated. In this thesis, the Shotcrete material model, which can capture the time-dependent behaviour without combining two types of construction elements, is used. First, a theory of time-dependent behaviour is presented and a design of concrete structures by Eurocode 2 is discussed. Next, the Shotcrete material model is described, then used for modeling a biaxial test and calibration of compression and bending test. Following the gained knowledge, a real boundary value problem of deep excavation supported by diaphragm walls with the strut was solved. To calculate values of the internal forces and horizontal deformation in diaphragm walls, three types of material models are used.
Návrh podzemní stěny ovlivněné výkopem z obou stran
Kočičková, Veronika ; Polák, Barnabás (referee) ; Uhrin, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was simplified design of diaphragm wall affected by excavation from both sides. This wall is a part of temporary shaft that serves for exchange of tunnel boring machines and at the same time it is a permanent structure of an adjacent metro station. Part of the thesis deals with description of construction sequence of diaphragm walls, excavation of the shaft, excavation of the adjacent metro station and following construction of metro tubes and backfilling of the shaft. Inseparable part of the thesis is assessment of geological conditions and geotechnical parameters. Furthermore, a study on temperature loads on struts was carried out and the results of the study were used for design of the struts. To fulfil the requirements of the assignment several models of the shaft structure and adjacent metro station were built in program Plaxis and one model of the diaphragm wall of the shaft was created in program Geo5. The model outputs were subsequently compared to each other. Furthermore a model of lateral support frame was created in program Scia Engineer. Outputs from programs Plaxis and Scia Engineer were used as a basis for design checks of the structure. The design checks were done according to Eurocodes. The diaphragm wall and the lateral support frame were designed to support the loads considered in this thesis. In order to simplify the calculation variable loads from construction machines were not considered and the only variable load considered was the temperature load on struts. Lateral support frame was also designed to accidental load – loss of a strut.
Ground retaining structure for cut & cover metro station in Qatar
Kočičková, Veronika ; Račanský, Václav (referee) ; Uhrin, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to assess the geological conditions and durability of the cut and cover metro station in Qatar. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the construction sequence and structural checks of selected elements of the structure. The geological conditions were evaluated on the basis of an extensive geotechnical investigation that was conducted at the construction site. This research also gave necessary information for durability design. After the assessment of the ground conditions in the thesis, it was possible to choose suitable retaining walls and lateral support system and continue with a plan of construction sequence. A diaphragm wall and mezzanine level prop were chosen for the structural check. In case of the wall, the main load was caused by bending moments of a big significance, therefore the wall was designed to the envelope of these moments obtained from software Plaxis. Furthermore, it was necessary to consider the interaction of bending moments and normal forces for the design of the prop. For both elements, reinforcement of bigger diameters was designed.

Roudný, Tomáš ; Bažant, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The work deals with design of two variants of reinforced concrete walls for line flood-protection precautions. The solution include design and assessment of walls according to ČSN EN 1992 in the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state (crack limitation).
Numerical modelling of resealing effects in earthen dams
Bredy, Somia ; Hodák,, Jiří (referee) ; Miča, Lumír (referee) ; Jandora, Jan (advisor)
This study focuses on the most important sealing technologies; Diaphragm walls and Jet grouting as a major most popular reliable option when it comes to engineering constructions rehabilitation. Those two methods have been used in Karolinka dam for reducing seepage through its body. Diaphragm walls were used along the dam, and jet grouting was used at both ends of the dam. The study deals with the possibility of numerical modelling of these two technologies. It is included how to carry out, interaction with adjacent soil, cement shrinkage, slope stability, changing of pore water pressure with the time, dynamic analysis of drilling rod and the effects of both technologies on slope stability, seepage and settlement of dam. This modelling was conducted with the finite element method based on software Plaxis 3D.
