Floristic diversity monitoring of the locality Branský les, South Bohemia, in the context of planned expansion of peat extraction
Konvalinková, Lucie ; Petrů, Anita (advisor) ; Vachová, Pavla (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to collect data on floristic composition in the territory of Branský les II, South Bohemia. The area of interest is situated in proximity to the peat extraction field. There existed assumption that the species composition would have been heavily influenced by the proximity of the mining site. In 2015, a detailed field survey was carried out in the area that included habitat mapping and floristic research. The evaluation of the data emphasized the current representation of problematic plant species (invasive and expansive), as well as abundance of rare or endangered species. The current species composition of the locality corresponds with that of degraded peat forest. Due to the massive drainage, the natural succession accelerates together with gradual eutrophication, moving from the nearby waterways to the centre of the territory. In the territory of Branský les II, biotopes influenced by human activities predominate over the natural ones.
Biotope mapping of locality Branský les, South Bohemia, in the context of planned expansion of peat extraction
Klimešová, Sandra ; Petrů, Anita (advisor) ; Charvátová, Helena (referee)
The goal of this thesis was to map actual habitat distribution in the locality of Branský les II. in Třeboň. The locality is influenced by adjacent peat extraction. The purpose of this mapping was the identification of natural habitats and habitats influenced human activity. At the same time, detection of presence of rare or threatened species of flora and assessment of the expanse of area influenced by adjacent extraction. In 2015 a data collection was performed and the results were evaluated by the Habitat Catalogue of the Czech Rebublic and Handbook of Habitat Evaluation. In the study area there obvious degradation of stands mainly because of drainage. A ratio of natural habitats compared to anthropologenic habitats is minimal. Nevertheless, the vegetational attributes of the locality match with the habitat L10.2 pine mire forests with Vaccinium and within Natura 2000 network belongs to so called priority habitats. As a suitable way of restoration of peat bogs natural habitats is possible to apply a method of blocking a drainage canals or leave a peat bog to natural cyclical development
Integrative management of nature conservation in Šumava - case study of Lipno nad Vltavou and Kovářov
FLEISCHMANNOVÁ, Iveta
This thesis deals with current issues in the field of nature conservation, t. i. landscape fragmentation due to transport infrastructure in selected model areas in the Czech Republic. The project also evaluates the issue of landscape structure and its development with a focus on individual landscape elements and their characteristics. The thesis focuses on the impact of landscape fragmentation on dimensionally small organisms. Model locations are cadastral areas of two popular tourist destinations in the South Bohemian Region at Lipensko site. The target organisms were invertebrates, common representatives of families Carabidae and Formicidae. Occurence of those species is typical for these areas. Landscape structure of the two areas and its changes during a period of sixty years has been defined by analyzing the document. Existence of suitable habitat for various kinds of target species was calculated through Meff index. Obtained values represent a numerical expression of the existence of suitable areas for the studied organisms in both locations. Interviews conducted in model areas also pointed out to a very low public awareness of the issue of landscape fragmentation.
