Study of selected surface treatment methods of metallic materials
Mikušková, Radka ; Vlas, Petr (referee) ; Krčma, František (advisor)
The theoretical part of this master thesis summarizes the issue of surface treatment of metallic material with a focus on corrosion protection. It describes corrosion and divides the corrosion protection possibilities, focusing primarily on the way of creating protective surfaces, which is currently the most widespread method. From this category, the phosphating and electrostatic coating are described in more detail, because these methods are used later in the experimental part. It also deals with the methodology of corrosion testing and evaluation of corrosion. The practical part focuses on specific and selected surface treatment and is based on the requirements of private company IDEAL-Trade Service, spol. s r.o. Its goal is to optimize Zr-phosphate chemical pretreatment to increase the corrosion resistance of the material. In the begging, the X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) of sample from coating line was performed using aforementioned Zr-phospating process. Then, a simple laboratory model of the process was constructed. For individual treated samples, the concentration of the bath and its pH were always altered. Furthermore, the preparation solution was enhanced by additives and the effect on the resulting properties was monitored. For the selection of the additive, the elemental analysis by inductively coupled plasma (IPC) of the old and new phosphating bath in the coating line was used.
