Lead-acid baterry charger with automatic cycle
Moravec, Pavel ; Friedl, Martin (referee) ; Steinbauer, Miloslav (advisor)
The lead-acid batteries are still important and very often used type of battery even in 21st century. This project is focused on development of charger, which provides fast, but save charging of batteries with respect to maximum life time and reliability. The developed system uses constant current charging and constant voltage charging methods. It's specialized in charging batteries with liquid or gel electrolyte and traction types of batteries, which works with 12 V value of voltage. It's able to charge safely the deeply discharged batteries and when battery is unpluged for a long time, it can keep its capacity at maximum level too. The charger can choose optimal charging process according to the discharged level of battery. Each charging phase is interpreted by light signals and the achievable charging current is 20 A.
Lead Acid Battery Charger
Jeleček, Ondřej ; Tonar, Karel (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on design of lead acid baterry charger. First chapters describes the charging and discharging principes. This paper also shows basics types of lead acid batteries, their distribution depends on maintenance and part connected to the processes connected to the charging and discharging of the acumulators. Following part is focused on theoretical design of the charger with set up of parameters. Diploma thesis also contains comparsion of requested and real parameters of the charger.
Supercapacitor Parameters Dependence on Charging Duration
Kuparowitz, Tomáš
Supercapacitor (SC) parameters dependence on charging time is analyzed for Nesscap 2.7V / 10F. Charging was performed using constant current in the range from 0.5 A to 5 A. Reciprocal capacitance (C-1) was calculated. It linearly decreases with applied charge. During SC charging, the effective distance of charges on electrode-electrolyte interface decreases, due to the charge distribution being altered by mobile ions inside electric field. Ions are at first moving by drift, and then by diffusion processes. Effective thickness of electrolyte negative charge is determined from reciprocal capacitance. The effective thickness varies between 2.6 nm and 2.1 nm.
