Verification of the Applicability of Mixed Cement Types for the Production of Concrete Pavements
Klobása, Jan ; Hela, Rudolf
Concrete is the most widely used building material today. Due to the increase in the utility value of buildings, more and more emphasis is placed on the durability of buildings, which especially applies to concrete products exposed to frost and chemical deicing agents. Cement concrete pavements have the ability to transmit the effects of traffic and withstand adverse weather conditions. Concrete pavements can withstand high traffic loads without permanent deformations and have a long service life. However, it must be said that in the case of damage to the CB pavements, repairs require longer closures due to more demanding production and laying technology. The expected lifespan of a concrete road type is at least 30 years with basic and minimal maintenance, while the life cycle of tarmac roads is much shorter. Currently, great importance is placed on reducing emissions arising from industrial production, especially cement production, where it is stated that the production of 1 ton of cement produces approximately 0.6 tons of CO2. Reducing emissions is possible thanks to secondary raw materials that are produced in large volumes in the Czech Republic, for which a suitable use is being sought.
Building Construction Project for Industrial and Administrative Building ATX
Šrámek, Jiří ; Liška, Pavel (referee) ; Nečasová, Barbora (advisor)
The subject of this master’s thesis is a solution of chosen parts of building construction project. The project solves industrial hall that contains productions and administrative space. This thesis includes technological regulations for substructure, study of performing the main technological stages, design of using machines, checking and testing plans. Other phrases parts are time schedules, budget, calculations, design of site equipment including engineering report and report for performing access road. Starting materials, which were used for this thesis, were engineering report also including working drawings.
Research in the field of construction elements and design of concrete pavements
Grošek, Jiří ; Birnbaumová, Marie (referee) ; Vébr,, Ludvík (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The presented dissertation is focused on research in the field of dowels and design of concrete pavements using the finite element method. The theory part describes the history and the currently used techniques in the world and in the Czech Republic. The practice part of the dissertation contains a description of design methods, diagnostics of concrete pavements by using FWD and a description of laboratory tests on beams with inserted dowels. The results of measurements and modelling are verified on real operating conditions on testing fields. Based on the dissertation results, the amendment of the Czech standard ČSN 73 6123-1 regarding the position of dowels were proposed and approved. In addition, methodological guidelines of the Ministry of Transport regarding the measurements of the dowels and tie bars position and diagnostic by FWD was approved. The conclusion of the work summarizes and emphasizes the results of the dissertation.
Analysis of time of construction
Šmol, Tomáš ; Bařica, Zdeněk (referee) ; Aigel, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on assessment of time requirement of building labour during reconstruction of certain part of highway D1 and D2 and it also compares particular sections with regard on submitted work schedule, established range of work, different surface of roadway casing and various (unspecified) builders. The goal is to compare speed of implementation of realization in locations of concrete and asphalt casings, dependence on state of subsoil, existence of crossings of middle separating strips and length of certain parts of highway.

Relationship between macro- and microscopic sings of alkali-silica reactivity in concrete
Burdová, Anna ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor) ; Martinec, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with deterioration observed in cement-concrete cover (CBK) for three selected road sections of highways in the Czech Republic. The main objective was to determine whether concrete failure arose due to alkali-silica reaction, or other mechanism. The deterioration of concrete failure was observed in the macroscopic and microscopic scale. The mostly macroscopically observed deterioration of the concrete were cracks breaking the surface and inner parts of concrete. In micro- scale the microcracks and alcali-silica gels were observed. The CBK deterioration was quantitatively determined by three main parameters: specific length of microcracks on the CBK surface, specific length of microcracks in the drill cores and volume of alcali-silica gels and microcracks in thin sections. According to these indicators it was possible to distinguish two different types of CBK deteriorations. (1) Degradation mainly associated by alkali-silica reaction (observed on highways D11 - Vrbová Lhota and D1) and (2) degradation connected with another mechanism (cycles of freezing and thawing, mechanical degradation) was observed on the highway D5.
