Design of rear portal axle beams for city buses

The thesis focuses on the study of replacing the currently used solution of portal axle beams, which are made of welded steel parts, with castings. The reason for the change is the desire to reduce costs and improve the overall efficiency of production. The aim of the work is to analyse the rear axles of buses, design a new beam solution, define the loading forces, and perform a strength analysis using the finite element method for the existing and proposed beam solutions. Finally, an evaluation and comparison of the analysis results is performed.
