Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Nesvačily

This thesis deals with the history of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in a village called Nesvačily in the Benešov region. First, it describes the history of the church in general. The main part of the thesis focuses on the formation and the development of the church in Nesvačily from 1922, when the first services under the Czechoslovak Hussite Church were held there, until present day. To write the thesis the following materials were used: several scientific publications, a chronicle of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Benešov, a memorial book of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Nesvačily, materials from state, church and private archives, interviews with four members of the Nesvačily church community and two representatives of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. Using individual confessions of narrators it is possible to not only verify and reconstruct the course of historical events, but also discover new facts and find out more about the life of the Church during the First Republic period, communist rule and the present time. The aim of the thesis is to study the roots and development of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Nesvačily and compare it to the general development of the church.
