Social workers are trying to integrate all of their clients to the mainstream society by using sheltered housing and sheltered employment for several years. Social workers use the special diagnostics or their own experience. The problem is that there is not any tool which would be able to define the client's abilities to work with household appliance. The phenomenon of abilities of persons with mental retardation to use the common household appliance placed in sheltered houses or in sheltered workshops has not been researched enough. The aim of the thesis was get the data for comparison of abilities of clients to use common household appliances as a fridge, microwave oven, cooker, boiling kettle, washing machine, telephone and computer. There was used method of observation of clients during the author?s work at psychiatry and observation of behavior and activity of employee of sanitary facilities with their clients during the faculty training. Also, there were made interviews with social workers and with an assistant of social care who take care about clients. There was researched what household appliance is used in sanitary facilities by preliminary questions. Then the test was designed according to the given answers. The questions for the employee of sanitary facilities were standardized and objective. Then these answers were analyzed. The result from interviews is those employees do not care about the clients abilities to use household appliance. On the other hand, the employee considered the test to be useful tool for evaluation of clients? abilities and for their integration to the self-dependent living. There was developed suitable tool for evaluation of clients' abilities represented by the simple test in knowledge of using of household appliances. The test is based on the interviews with the employees of sanitary facilities where the research was made regard to the appliance of these institutions. Test was tried for the small group of respondents at first. Then the test was adjusted according to the obtained data to get the most objective data. Individual Planning Application with Clients of Sheltered Housing.
HORŇÁČKOVÁ, Marta
A very much debated topic is currently an issue of the individual planning with users of social services. It has been seen as a cornerstone in a rendition of the first-rate social service. It is legitimized in the Law No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services, where an obligation to plan a course of the service with the user is imposed with a respect to his/her needs and wishes so that he/she could be satisfied with an implementation and realization of the individual plans. The individual planning also belongs to important quality standards, that must be met so that the service could be provided on a high quality level, effectively and in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization while respecting the individual needs of the users. The aim of my thesis is to find out in which way the individual planning is carried out with users of the sheltered housing ?Proutek? in Jindřichův Hradec, whose clientele are people with mental disabilities. In the theoretical part, in order to achieve the objective, I will describe the individual planning, what specifics it has, methods and practices in the social work with mentally handicapped users, I will emphasize prerequisites for a successful planning with clients with mental disabilities. I will focus on the person of the worker who is engaged in the individual planning, how much he/she has been trained, which principles he/she should follow in the planning course to ensure the already above mentioned quality of the service in accordance with the standards. In the practical part I will specifically focus on an implementation of important preconditions for the high-quality individual planning for the users with mental disabilities in the sheltered housing. Through semi-controlled interviews with four assistants who realize the individual planning in the housing, I will find out the way of an implementation of the planning in the service, further I will evaluate positives as well as negatives which can occur during the individual planning with this specific group of users. An output of my bachelor thesis is an evaluation of the individual planning implementation in the service. A comparison of the assistants´ work and pointing out a good practice in a rendition of the first-rate individual planning with users with mental disabilities, focused on an application of principal planning prerequisites usable also for other establishments with a similar type of the service.

Sheltered housing is a long term residential service provided to seniors or disabled people, who need help of others in their situation. This service enables such people relatively independent life in common environment of their own household. St. Francis´s House in Veselí nad Lužnicí has been taken as a model example of sheltered housing for old people. The theoretical section includes detail description of this service. One of the objectives of this essay was to identify level of public awareness on the social service called Sheltered Housing for Seniors. Model housing like a part of self-contained rehabilitation of children with combinated handicap
SCHÖNEROVÁ, Aneta
ABSTRACT Model housing like a part of self-contained rehabilitation of children with combinated handicap In my thesis I deal with the following subject: Model housing like a part of self-contained rehabilitation of children with combinated handicap. The model housing is totally new project which Children´s Centre ARPIDA in České Budějovice ( hereinafter {\clqq} DC ARPIDA ``) took up as part of its services. The project has been running for two years and its implementation is realized in the second grade of vocational tranining school of DC ARPIDA in the building of The model protected housing. The aim of the project is to teach children with physical and combined handicap predefined activities. These predefined model activities should enlarge their independence from other persons and increase the extent of their self-sufficiency in common and extended daily activities connected with housing. The model protected housing is designed for children who attend the two-year vocational tranining school in DC ARPIDA where they go through three month´s course of the model protected housing. At the beginning of the course the children go through ergo-therapeutical examination to determine the rate of their independence and self-sufficiency. After finishing the course they are reviewed to find out whether they have improved their results and how they have profited from passing through the course. The main goal of my thesis is to investigate whether The model protected housing contributes to the increasing of the client´s level of seff-sufficiency and why it has a great importance in the system of education and physiotherapy. Another goal which should be followed is to show how the children´s parents see the project as a whole, whether they want their children to take part in this project, if they support the idea of a separate living and how they want their children to live in the future. I used the questionnaire method and the secondary data analysis to verify the given hypotheses. The interviewed group was made up of the parents of children clients of DC ARPIDA. My main aim was to investigate how much they are informed about the possibilities of integration of their children to the society, in what ways the parents are able to support them, their willingness to assist in this proccess and what is their idea of their children´s future life. The proccess of integration is not only the result of school classes or experts´ and school staff´s effort but first of all it is the parents who are supposed to be the most important link in the proccess of integration . Their position in the proccess of successful integration is irreplaceable. The input and output physiotherapy results were used for the secondary analysis. On the basis of data obtained from this analysis it is possible to claim that the model activities which the children performed in the model protected housing help to increase the rate of independance from an other person and of everyday self-sufficiency. With respect to explicit results of the research it is possible to draw the conclusion that in all cases the course of model protected housing increases the function rate of self-sufficiency and independence from the others in the model activities. Thereby the basis hypothesis has been clearly confirmed.
An Institution Helping People Being Treated with a Drug Abuse Problem in South Bohemia
ČENOVSKÁ, Petra
The work attempts to bring closer projects whose aim is to help people returning from psychiatric institutions and therapeutic communities (having been treated for dependance) back into the community. Taking into account that such projects do not have a long history, having started in 1999 onwards, there are not many within the Czech Republic. To look into this issue I chose the Centre of Follow-up Care in České Budějovice. I portray their philosophy, aims, day-to-day operations, range of services on offer in terms of theory as well as practice. In the practical part I found out the level of satisfaction amongst the clients with the services offered, and the project as a whole. During my short stay in the project I noticed the level of openness and helpfulness showed by the workers in relation to the clients {--} offered services are carried out with a high degree of responsibility and a more than adequate degree of understanding and support which is mirrored in the answers in my questionnaire. Work is carried out with lots of commitment and clients manage to value it when assessing the offered services.
