ČÍŽOVÁ, Barbora
The topic of children with hearing impairments in children's home at a school for the hearing impaired is a complex issue that requires attention. These children not only face challenges associated with their impairment but also challenges related to the absence of a stable family background. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the specific needs of children with hearing impairments living in children's homes, particularly in the areas of upbringing, education, and specialized care. The theoretical part introduces the issue of hearing impairment, its diagnosis, therapy, and compensation, comprehensive rehabilitation, and also provides insights into institutional care, primarily focusing on children's homes. The practical part of the thesis focuses on identifying the specific needs of these children in areas such as education, upbringing, and specialized care, and proposes measures for their effective resolution. To achieve this goal, methods including studying professional literature, interviews with experts, and observations of these children in children's home and school for the hearing impaired were employed.
