Etologické sledování kastrovaných samců lam
MENŠÍKOVÁ, Petra
In recent years, the breeding of llamas and alpacas has become increasingly popular in the Czech Republic. The increasing interest in llama breeding brings with it the need to find out how these animals react to breeding in our conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of ethological observations of castrated male llamas (alpacas and llamas) with a focus on their sexual behaviour. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the field of ethology - history, division, methods of ethological research and basic forms of animal behaviour. It also describes the classification of llamas, methods of breeding, its importance and basic life manifestations of llamas. The practical part describes the results of ethological observations. This was carried out in four seasons, for four days, 24 hours a day (direct observation and evaluation of camera footage). The results of the research showed that castrated males can also display sexual behaviours, but this was only a part of the observed individuals.
