Biomass processing for direct combustion
MAREK, Jakub
The aim of this work was to create an overview of the possibilities for using biomass for energy purposes, and treatment technologies for direct combustion of biomass. Furthermore, it was assessing the energy intensity of production of wood briquettes and compared the amount of energy supplied to the process, the amount of energy gained by burning the fuel. As the data were used to assess the monthly energy consumption for the years 2009 and 2010. The average value of energy supplied to the manufacturing process is 91.9 kWh per tonne of briquettes produced in 2009 and 89.8 kWh/t in 2010. The amount of energy embedded in the production of briquettes, then 15 450.7 MJ per tonne of fuel. When compared with the calorific value of briquettes, then the result of the manufacturing process has an energy recovery fuel.
