Analysis of the meat oxherd breeds in an organic agriculture
ŠEBELKA, Štěpán
The aim of this thesis was to analyze the results of the Aberdeen Angus meet herd breeding in an ecological farming with the welfare relationship to the animals and at the same time to compare the efficiency after the system change of the farming at the farm Angus, Rančice, owned by Milan Šebelka. The research was done in the period of years 2005 ? 2012. The survey range includes 80 heads of thorough-bred cows as well as 266 heads of Aberdeen Angus calves born in the tracked period. The number of births and calving interval was dated by the cows. By the calves we noted the live weight and average daily gain in the growth process. The population of the calves was then sorted our by year of the birth, sex and by the way of farming. The data entries were elaborated in the MICROSOFT EXCEL and evaluated in STATISTICA. The cows had the calving interval of the period often from 351 to 380 days. In the herd with the most cows occurred at 3rd calf length interval. By the monitored number of calves no matter of the sex was noted the lowest live weight by the birth in transitional period (37.97 kg). The group of calves born in organic farming reached the highest average weight by the birth, in 120 days as well as in 210 days (38.88 kg, 190.91 kg, 307.81 kg). The lowest average weight in 120 days was noticed in transition period (176.93 kg), in 210 day in transition period again (271,56 kg). The best growth ability from the birth to 120 days was by the group of calves born in organic farming (heifers ? 1.177 kg, bulls ? 1.353 kg) compared to the lowest result in transitional period (heifers ? 1.091 kg, bulls ? 1.215 kg). The average daily gain from 120 till 210 days reached its minimum transitional period (heifers ? 1.082 kg, bulls ? 1.233 kg), the maximum numbers were noted in organic farming (heifers ? 1.253 kg, bulls ? 1.343 kg). The growth intensity from the birth till 210 days its minimum transitional period (heifers ? 1.074 kg, bulls ? 1.154 kg), the maximum numbers were noted in organic farming (heifers ? 1.209 kg, bulls ? 1.347 kg). In the ecological agriculture system was noted statistical better efficiency results (live weight, growth intensity) compared to conventional agriculture system.
The Moving Activity of Beef Cattle During the Whole Year Outdoor Lairage
ZACH, Ondřej
The bachelor thesis is focused on the moving activity of beef cattle with whole year outdoor lairage. The aim of the work was the observation and evaluation of the moving activity in relation to day time and the state of health of cattle. Ethologic observations were made, during which the basic life displays were observed. The aim was to analyse the daily regimen in various conditions of breeding and to find out influences disturbing their contentment. The observation of the motion activity was gauged by Vitalimeters which were placed on the animal's neck. The measurement does not prove the difference between moving activity of Charolais cattle and Aberdeen Angus cattle.
Behaviors in beef cattle in the intermediate
VESELÁ, Tereza
The aim of this thesis was to obtain and evaluate information from behavioural monitoring of beef cattle herd raised in the system without market milk production in the year-round grazing. The behaviour was recorded using interval descriptive method with the length of the interval 10 minutes. The monitoring showed that the feed intake was most intensive in spring (54 %) and the lowest feed intake in winter (39 %). The movement of the cows in spring and winter does not exceed 7% of the day. The biggest movement was registered in summer (12 %). The above findings were compared with data obtained from other authors and theirs researches. The achieved results show that this farming method is very suitable for ecological and aesthetic use of grasslands and doesn't affect the natural behaviour of animals and contributes to improve their welfare.
The influence of beef cattle pasture on composition plantation form and developmen non-producing functions of grassland
TRNKOVÁ, Ivana
The influence of beef cattle pasture on the composition of pasture herbage was studied in Šumava region (Kaplice, 550 {--} 850 m a.s.l) from 2005 to 2006. Also was studied the effect of different nanagement of permanent grassland on its composition plantation form and non-producing functions. On the pasture herbage dominated grass and leguminous species. On the fallow land prevailed herb species. On the combined management site (pasture and harvest) was established higher frequency of Taraxacum officinale, Trifolium pratense and Dactylis glomerata
Monitoring moving activity of beef cattle during the year
RUDA, Jan
My work was focused on assesment of moving activity of beef cattle (whole year outdoor lairage) with special aim at outward and inward factors. Experiment was realized in a small privat farm (40ha) in foothills. Breeding animals are crossbreeds of these beef cattle races: charolais, piemontese, aberdeen angus, hereford, gasconne, limusine and czech pied cows.
Monitoring moving activity of beef cattle during the year
RUDA, Jan
Beef cattle breeding is one of the basic and traditional kind of agriculture department in the Czech Republic. In the last few years is growing the number of beef cattle especialy in mountain areas and foothills. Monitoring was made by pedometers placed on the neck part and anterior limb (used 20 animals) and on the neck only (used 10 animals). Pedometr counts the numer of movements in hour, every single hour is separated into 240 parts - 15 seconds each. If is there any move during that time, pedometr will record. The additional technical equipment is antenna and PC with an appropriate software. For temperature and air humidity measuring was used datalogger noticing the data every hour. We compared the influences of tempereture and air humidity on moving activity, influence of rutting season on moving activity and finaly the differences between the data from the neck part and from the anterior limb. Was found out that the temperature has a fundamental influence on the moving activity. No ralation between the air moisture and the moving activity was found. There was not such a big increase of moving activity during the rutting season as we expected. The activity measured on the neck was significantly higher then the activity measured on the anterior limb. Both of them embodied mathematical functional dependence.
Evaluation of observed parameters of a beef herd.
CIMBURKOVÁ, Pavla
It has been observed beef breed herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle in the foothills area of Novohradské mountains in 1992 - 2007. The base of herd was consisted of 117 dams and 814 pieces of calves in total. The parameters of beef production of calves and the reproduction of dams were monitored. For the parameters of growth of calves were found significant effects of the year, the month of birth, sex, the order of calving, the method of reproduction and the sire.
Evaluation of sire rearing results of beef cattle breeds
STRNADOVÁ, Eva
During the work, results of ten sires of beef breeds had been observed in OPB Cunkov s.r.o. Over the years 2004 to 2007, 590 pieces of animals was evaluated. The highest number of all the evaluated sires was at the breed charolais (211 pieces), with average daily gain of 1883 grams, which was the highest daily gain from all the breeds evaluated. Of all the number of bulls included, 81,7% of them was included in breeding process and 18,3% of them was negative selected. Rearing house is an important means the other progress of beef cattle breeding.
Analysis of beef cattle breed
KOLOUŠKOVÁ, Martina
The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the efficiency and fertility of beef cattle herd kept without market milk production on a farm Ostrý u Jistebnice, owned by ing. Pavel Kozák. Monitoring of the herd took place in the period between the year 2006 and 2008. The objects of analysis were 149 purebred cows and 296 calves of Belgian Blue, Blonde d{\crq}Aquitaine, Charolais, Limousin and Simmental breeds. At cows, age during first calving, time interval between calving, number of birth and occurance of complicated birth have been recorded. The weight of calves at birth, in the age of 120, 210 and 365 days, has been checked and average daily increments have been counted.
Beef cattle breeding in the marginal regions of the Southern and the Western Bohemia
KYNKALOVÁ, Pavlína
The aim of this diploma work was to evaluate the level of beef utility at particular breeds. The breeds were bred in different climatic conditions of foothills and mountain regions of the Southern and the Western Bohemia. It was observed the use of permanent green grass by beef cattle´s pasture in relation of reached utility. There were included in total 31 farms in monitoring. The farms keep 7 breeds (Aberdeen Angus, Galloway, Hereford, Highland, Charolais, Simentál and Salers). There were 16 farms situated in regions under 600 meters above sea-level and 15 farms in regions over 600 meters above sea-level. The data were collected during 5 years. At cows, month of calving and occurrance of complicated births, have been recorded. The weight of calves at birth, in the age of 120, 210 and in certain cases also 365 days, has been checked. There were counted the average daily gains to mentioned weights. The group has been sorted according to breeds, elevation above sea-level and sex of the calves.
