Historical map of the Battle of Štěrboholy

The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to conduct a content analysis of old maps of the Battle of Štěrboholy. Based on the information gained from the analyzed maps, a historical map of this conflict will be created. The old maps of the battle used in this thesis are located in the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University. In the first part of the thesis, the battle is introduced in historical context. This is followed by a discussion of issues related to content analysis of old battle maps. The analysis of two old maps follows. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to creating a historical map based on the old maps. The result is a detailed map of the battle, which aims to provide the reader with the most accurate depiction of the conflict. Historical Atlas of the Battle of Leipzig

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze selected old maps of the Battle of Leipzig and create a historical atlas of this battle, which is one of the most important clashes of the Napoleonic Wars. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts related to the given issue are explained. The methodology of map analysis is also described, namely content, semiotic and cartometric analysis. The following is a brief presentation of the actors, causes, progress and consequences of the Battle of Leipzig. In the practical part of the thesis, a detailed content and semiotic analysis of two old maps of the Battle of Leipzig from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science is carried out. A separate practical output is a printed thematic historical atlas of the Battle of Leipzig, which is designed and created on the basis of the knowledge gained. This atlas contains eight different maps, accompanying texts, figures, tables, as well as a character key. The atlas should show the reader the spatial location of the armies at different times and also provide basic information about the important conflict in question. Historical atlas of the battle of Austerlitz

This bachelor's thesis takes place at the Battle of Austerlitz on December 6, 1805, also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors or Austerlitz, which occurred in our territory. Moreover, this battle was one of Napoleon's most important victories that resulted in the Holy Roman Empire falling apart. This paper aims to design and create a historical atlas of this battle. Theoretically, the writer will provide the evidence with available analysis of cartographic products connected to the battle. Additionally, this paper focuses on introducing the Napoleonic Wars and their participants, and the course of the Battle of Austerlitz. Based on the analysis, a custom design of a thematic historical atlas, including a character key, is will be created. The practical output will be the thematic historical atlas of the Battle of Austerlitz, including both topographic maps and accompanying texts, pictures, or tables. The creation of the Historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz

The goal of this thesis is to create a historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz. The theoretical part describes rules, concepts and methods of the thematic cartography, followed by a research of printed historical atlases, which served as an inspiration for the author. The last section of the theoretical part deals with the introduction to the Battle of Königgrätz itself. In the practical part, an appropriate methodological creation process is proposed based on the acquired knowledge. The key part of the process is working with historical maps from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University as well as with historical literature. The outcome of the thesis is the aforementioned historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz, which shows the spatial distribution of armies during the battle using chronologically ordered maps and provides basic information regarding the causes, course, consequences and key moments of the conflict.
