Predictions of financial distress of a company through financial analysis methods

This bachelor thesis is aimed at comparison and evaluation of financial health of the company Novako Jihlava s.r.o., which has been undergoing insolvency proceeding since April 2009 and the company Stavona, spol. s.r.o., which seems to be prosperous. The aim of the work was to determine whether the methods of financial analysis(particularly solvency and bankruptcy models) could predict the fall of the company Novako Jihlava s.r.o. At the same time were compared the prediction of particular models.
Comparison of companies JITEX a.s. and OTAVAN Třeboň a.s. trough bankruptcy and solvency models

This bachelor thesis is focused on bankruptcy and solvency models. Just 14 models were applied. Thesis has two main parts. The theoretical part describes financial analysis and history of bankruptcy prediction models. It provides us with general information about models. The main goal of the practical part is application and comparison of bankruptcy and solvency models.
Financial analysis of the company Tatra, a.s.

Financial analysis is a tool by which a company can evaluate and describe its results for a certain accounting period. Due to financial analysis we can predict the future development of a company, and show its strengths and weaknesses, threats, opportunities, and it is also possible to test how input of different data can make in changes monitored parameters. Information collected from financial analysis are used externally (e.g. by banks, by potential investors) and also internally (e.g. by management or by owners). The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to carry out a detailed financial analysis of Tatra, a.s. company, during 2004--2008 and try to estimate the direction of the company in the future and outline scheme that top management can apply to their work to help the company survive and continue their work in this unstable period. Tatra, a.s. company has been established in mid-19th century, therefore it has been listed as one of the oldest automobile companies in the world.
Comparison of the Slévárna Losenický and the Slévárna a strojírna companies based on solvency and bankruptcy models

This bachelor thesis is aimed at comparison and evaluation of financial health of the Slévárna Losenický s.r.o. and the Slévárna a strojírna, a.s. companies based on financial analysis application, particularly solvency and bankruptcy models, in the years 2004 - 2008. The bachelor thesis also deals with the explanatory power of the models. Both of the selected companies differ deliberately in their business success. The first mentioned one seems to be prosperous, while the second mentioned one has been undergoing insolvency proceeding since September 2009, but both of them are from the same branch of business and comparable with their amount of sales. In the theoretical part the bankruptcy theory, some elementary methods of financial analysis, i.e. horizontal and structural analysis, main financial ratios and net working capital indicator, are described first and then the extra attention is devoted to the solvency and bankruptcy models including their construction and evaluation criteria. In the practical part the mentioned methods and models are applied to both the selected companies and in the conclusion the explanatory power of applied solvency and bankruptcy models is evaluated.
Financial analysis of company Madeta, Inc.

Determination of competing position of the company Esonic a.s. in relation to its main competitors

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to set up competing position of the company Esonic a.s. in relation to its main competitors by the means of financial analyses. The field of corporation business is industrial automation, taking place mostly in food processing industry. With respect to low competition of the three most significant corporations, which I am going to analyze, this publication should be able to tell about the entire field. The main competitors, which will be compared to the company Esonic, a.s., are Sidat, spol. s.r.o. and ProjectSoft, spol. s.r.o. At the conclusion, I will determine the financial situation of the company Esonic a.s. and provide information about it's competing situation in this business field.

The objective of the diploma paper is to outline the economic situation of the company O-I Sales and Distribution Czech Republic, Ltd. The initial effort was to lay down the economic theory. This section describes the methodics that are applied in the practical part of the diploma paper. The practical part is concentrated on four thematic sections: describtion of the company, financial analysis of the company, calculation of bankruptcy indicators, concretely the ratio ZETA from Prof. Altman and the index IN95 and the implementation of creditworthy indicators, namely the model of the vitality from Harry Pollak and the system Balanced Scorecard. Some deficiencies, solution and measures are than refered on the basis of this analysis. The confrontation of the applied methodologies is made at the close of the diploma paper.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess financial health of the HOCHTIEF CZ a.s. company. First part of the thesis is focused on the methods used in the analysis of the company. Second part shortly introduces the company itself. In the third part there is accomplished financial analysis of the company at the hand of the selected ratios which are mentioned in the theoretical part.
Analysis of the economic efficiency of the company TRW Volant Inc.

Diploma thesis deals with evaluation of the economic situation of the company TRW Volant Inc. in the years 2003 -- 2007 and assessment of its financial health by analysing the chosen economic indicators. There are shortly described the individual phases of financial analysis as a basic instrument of the economic analysis in the theoretical part and there are also explained some basic terms. The practical part is focused on further identification of the company and the branch where it operates in, and also on aplication of theoretical analyses by means of mathematic calculation and graphic comparison. For the analysis purposes I used f.e. ratio indexes from the sphere of profitability, liquidity, structure of capital, activity and capital market, value index EVA, chosen bankruptcy and financial standing models, Du Pont's pyramidal decomposition etc. One of the component parts is also comparison of the analysed company with an average of the branch.
