The thesis si focused on posibilities of using native flora in landscape architecture. Different ways of studying native species are examinated. Knowledge of botany and phytocenology is used practically. The thesis is striving to connect botanical and horticultural way of thinking about plants. Possible ways of studying native species are listed in the theoretical part. Herbaceous communities were selected for further study. Native plants are useful for designing ecological plantings. The history of these plantings is presented, as well as the character of them. Attributes of native species relevant for landscape architecture are introduced. Floral vegetation element which are suitable for use of native plants are demonstrated. In the practical part the flora of specific area is investigated. The plant communities, suitable for inspiration in landscape architecture are identified, as well as native species, which have a strong potencial but are not used yet. A proposal is designed for a place within the researched area. Flowerbeds of native species are used in this proposal.

This thesis deal with the issue of native species of herbaceous plant in the Czech Republic. On base of the information obtained from the literature were evaluated possibilities of using native species, including their advantages and disadvantages. They were chosen specific species suitable for use in garden and landscape architecture to create floral vegetation element. The thesis is oriented on dicotyledonous perennial herbs. The first part is described 37 selected species. The characteristic include botanical description, habitat requirements and rationale for the choice. The second part contains the drawing for two model areas, where some of the selected species are utilized with herbs already in use.
