Opinions of the 40+ generation on surrogate motherhood
CHLASTÁKOVÁ, Anna
This bachelor thesis deals with surrogacy. My work focuses specifically on the very concept of surrogacy, the types of surrogacy, the surrogate mother and the process of adopting a child, including the very beginning of the whole process, and thus assisted reproduction. The purpose of this thesis was to map the opinions of the 40+ generation. The work is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part deals with general concepts that relate to surrogate motherhood, ie the forms of surrogate motherhood, the surrogate mother, the surrogate contract, legislation and adoption, but also assisted reproduction. An equally important theoretical part is the chapter devoted to the ethics of surrogacy and the psychological aspects associated with this topic. In the practical part, a quantitative research was conducted, the goal of which was to find out the views and awareness of surrogacy, including the attitudes of respondents to this issue. To create the practical part of this thesis I used the strategy of quantitative research, a method of questioning with the technique of my own questionnaire. In the practical part, two research hypotheses were selected. The research data has been written down and later evaluated in the SPSS program. The results of the research show that women are more in favor of surrogacy than men. Men, unlike women, think that it is a form of human trafficking. They also can't imagine a friend or acquaintance as a surrogate mother. Women think that the main motivation for a woman to become a surrogate mother is to help another couple, but the men's opinion is that the motivation to become a surrogate mother stems from a woman's unpleasant life situation. Mapping the opinions on this issue shows the sensitivity of this topic, but it is still necessary to address this issue.

Waldaufová, Eva ; Šťastná, Anna (advisor) ; Fait, Tomáš (referee)
Assisted reproduction in Czechia: sociodemographic context of selected treatment methods Abstract In the context of reproductive ageing, which is one of the most important trends observed since the 1990s in Czechia, there is an increase in the use of assisted reproduction technologies (ART). This brings a number of aspects that can be the subject to a study in the field of demography. Mothers who have conceived by ART and mothers who have conceived without ART are different in terms of structure, and mothers with ART have the worse birth outcomes. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the use of ART methods in Czechia and to identify differences/similarities of mothers according to the way of conception. Not only to compare mothers with or without ART, but also the method of ART (in vitro fertilization, frozen embryo transfer, and oocyte reception). Three birth outcomes are analysed in more detail, and they are low birth weight, preterm births, and caesarean section births. The research is based on individualized anonymized data on mothers who gave birth in Czechia between 2013 and 2018. It turns out that there are differences in the structure of mothers according to the way of conception from the view of sociodemographic structure, health condition, and selected birth outcomes. Using the logistic regression...

Kohoutová, Marie ; Šustek, Petr (advisor) ; Hendrychová, Michaela (referee)
The right of the child to know one's origin in the context of assisted reproduction: a comparative analysis Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of the right to know one's origin in cases of assisted reproduction, i.e. in the situation of gamete donation. The aim of the thesis is to analyse whether the right of the child to know its origin is sufficiently ensured in the context of assisted reproduction in the legal systems of the Czech Republic, Germany and Denmark and which legal institutes are used to ensure it. The right to know one's origin is analysed with respect to its basic aspects according to the scope of the perception of the right. The health aspect perceives the right to know one's origin in the narrowest way, the identity aspect perceives it more broadly and the relational aspect perceives it the most widely. The first part of the thesis provides a brief introduction to the issues of assisted reproduction and germ cell donation and also contains definitions of the terms that are further elaborated in the text. The second chapter deals with the right to know one's origins in the context of gamete donation, discussing in more detail its various aspects based on the theory of bioethicist V. Ravitsky. Emphasis is also placed on the psychosocial and ethical part of the matter and on the...

Semyakina, Anastasiya ; Peterka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Novotná, Božena (referee)
4 Abstract This diploma thesis is concerned with modern methods of treatment for infertility. It examines to what extent and in what cases are these methods used and what risk does it pose for a woman's and a child's health. Paticular emphasis is placed on the methods of assisted reproductive technology as the most used, effective and the most invasive. Nowadays 10-15% of couples face the problem of infertility. In most of the cases this problem can be solved with the help of hormonal therapy, surgery or assisted reproductive technology. The most common complication of ART (assisted reproductive technology) is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome which leads to higher frequency of miscarriages and can be fatal for a woman. Since more that one embryo is usually transferred in ART children conceived with the help of this method can face different problems related to multiple pregnancy such as higher risk of preterm birth, higher risk of congenital disorder or intrauterine growth retardation. Key words: ART, assisted reproductive technology, infertility, congenital disorder, multiple pregnancy
