Symbolic notation in selected 16th century arithmetic books from Czech environment: an example of George Goerl
Fantová, Anna ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
A primary objective of this bachelor thesis is to characterize mathematical symbolism (the use of substitute signs of usually fixed meaning for a description of objects and processes) in arithmetic books from the 16th century written in the Czech language with a primary focus on the foundations of arithmetic. Firstly, I categorize the period notation based on its form and purpose by analysing the historical sources. Then, I compare the symbolism described in the individual arithmetic books and connect the discovered differences in time. The analysis focuses on an arithmetic book by George Goerl from approximately the second third of the monitored period. Futhermore, I elaborate on an earlier arithmetic book by Andreas Klatovský and a different one by Benes Optát. In general, I arrange the arithmetic books chronologically. Another aim of this paper is to evaluate the above-mentioned arithmetic books from a formal point of view. Therefore, I touch on the contents of each of them, ordering, and literary and pictorial paratexts. I am also interested in particular exercises and examples as sources of knowledge of the everydayness in the age of the authors. I evaluate the suitability of their way of notation and problem solving in some exercises in comparison with today's approach. Throughout the whole...
Analysis of selected solutions of Mathematical Olympiad category Z - Arithmetic
ŘIČICOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the bachelor thesis is a detailed collection of solutions of selected twenty tasks of the Mathematical Olympiad category Z5-Z9. It is intended for pupils in the 5th to 9th grade and the corresponding classes of eight-year and six-year grammar school preparing for the Mathematical Olympiad or another similar competition. It is as well intended for teachers who help them with preparation. Some of the tasks can be used in a standard Mathematics class as diversification of teaching. The thesis also includes some basic information about the Mathematical Olympiad.
Mathematics in Ancient India
Sýkorová, Irena ; Bečvář, Jindřich (advisor) ; Veselý, Jiří (referee) ; Hykšová, Magdalena (referee)
The thesis is devoted to ancient Indian mathematics; it describes the mathe- matical knowledge, computational techniques and methods for solving various ari- thmetic, algebraic and geometric problems that the Indians knew and used. The thesis follows the development of Indian mathematics from the oldest knowledge contained in ancient Vedic texts to the knowledge originated from the classic me- dieval arithmetic and algebraic works. This is the first comprehensive text written in Czech which contains the translation of original problems and analysis of their solutions in the current mathematical formulation and symbolism. The sources are mainly English translations of ancient Sanskrit texts and their commentaries.
Application of prepared enviroment principles by Maria Montessori at primary school for children with mild intellectual disabilities
BENEDIKTOVÁ, Erika
The first part of this thesis introduces basics principles of the Montessori pedagogical system with emphasis on prepared environment. Next part is about examples of prepared environment in professional literature and in the visisted school. The end part deals with application of prepared environment principles in the example of my own pedagogical work in education of children with special needs in education and in self-realisation. In appendix is a set of used didactical material.

Interactive word tasks with GeoGebra.
JANČICH, Jakub
This work serves as an auxiliary collection of math problems of the foundations of arithmetic. All examples are processed in GeoGebra and placed on the websites. Using GeoGebra is achieved by a dynamic surroundings where each user can change the input data word problems. Because jobs are designed to integer results, change the input data can lead to tasks that do not have a solution. Thereby, each user can test all the task results. For each example is explained algorithmic background and instructions on the creation of a similar example. All of these examples were tested the children from the second grade of elementary school. And from their mistakes and results, there are outlined and solved the problem sections at the end of examples.
Using computer on the primary school to teach the topic Natural numbers to 1 000.
SELUCKÁ, Eva
My dissertation is mainly focused on work sheets created in Smart notebook 10 which are intended for the third-grade pupils of primary school. At the beginning I am dealing with the didactic part of chosen curriculum in material which was made by me. Futhermore I am comparing available mathematic schoolbooks which are intended for the third grade. The main part contains methodical manual for users of the working sheets which were created in Smart Notebook 10. It is mainly focused on the operation, the usage and the right method of working out the particular tasks. In conclusion of my dissertation I am summarizing my conclusions of hours and I am evaluating my experience gained from teaching at the primary school during which I used the chosen working sheets.
Processing of Selected Topics in Mathematics for Children with Limited Mobility Hands - The Second Class of Elementary School
ŠTEFKOVÁ, Kateřina
My thesis is focused mainly on my own electronic work sheets for children with limited hand mobility - the second class of elementary school. The introduction deals with methodology of chosen topics which I have used in my work sheets. I compare teaching methods which I have used with alternative ones. The main part of my thesis aims at SMART Board 10 software for interactive whiteboard which I have used for creating my work sheets, secondly on its use, thirdly on its tools from the tool kit and at last but not at least on description of my work sheets. I also describe the teaching of a physically disabled girl with limited hand mobility that I have taught. The conclusion consists of summarizing my experience with teaching based on my work sheets and assessing my teaching lessons.
