Domestic hemodialysis in our country and abroad

Considering that kidneys have many important functions in the body, it is a very wide field. It is primarily concerned with filtering wastes and water from the blood, which is the function of kidneys. The bachelor thesis deals with the effect of domestic hemodialysis on the pacient in the home environment in our country and abroad. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical The theoretical part of the thesis is concerned with the single replacement of kidney functions, vascular approaches, domestic hemodialysis in the home environment in Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, and the advantages and disadvantages of HHD. Furthermore, this part includes the methods of hemodialysis in the home environment, the necessities for execution and the patient support and services provided with HHD, material delivery and HHD equipment. The aim of the thesis was to map the effect of domestic hemodialysis on the patient in the home environment and to recognize the changes it brought to the patients life and with what type of problems do patients most often turn to application specialist. Research group consisted of patients from the Czech Republic and one patient from the Federal Republic of Germany who had or is undergoing domestic hemodialysis treatment. The second research group consisted of an application specialist, who stays with the patients during the very beginning and the beginnings of the treatment. The research part was processed by means of qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. The result of the research showed how the patient himself or with the help of a family member copes with the whole new life situation and what changes the domestic hemodialysis treatment brought him. Most significant was the feeling of freedom, better organization of family, leisure and working time.
