Micro and nanocomposites in the microstructure of metallic materials
Olivo, Tomas ; Adam, Ondřej (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the field of metal matrix nanocomposites. Firstly, the research covers the general mechanical characteristics of materials utilized in nanocomposites. Subsequently, the research defines the mentioned matrix and its different types, that are regularly applied during the production of nanocomposites. Secondly, the research analyses the types of reinforcing (strengthening) components and their use in matrix advancement. This will further lead to introducing the individual mechanisms that reinforce nanocomposites. Thirdly, this research describes the methods employed in the production of nanocomposites – both continuously or discontinuously reinforced. Moreover, the focus shifts to the individual types of materials that satisfy the required characteristics of composites. This outlines the specific types of composites created by the reactions within the materials. Finally, the research summarises the benefits of using nanocomposites.
Influence of location of Al castings in a heat treatment furnace on mechanical properties
Toufar, Tomáš ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horenský, Jiří (advisor)
The present Master thesis deals with location of aluminium castings in the heat treatment furnace and its influence on mechanical properties. As testing samples for the experimental part, tensile bars were used; they were cast from the subeutetic silumin AlSi7Mg0,6. These samples were placed in the furnace in the locations where temperatures were calibrated by the furnace supplier. Then, tensile tests were performed to evaluate the resulting mechanical properties of the samples. The experiment was carried out in the foundry of non-ferrous metals, MESIT foundry Ltd., Uherské Hradiště.
LABORARTORY BRNO
Bukatovič, Tomáš ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The building is inspired by the internet phenomenon called crowdfunding. Anyone who can take own vision to the public spoteye, has the opportunity to realize their projects, Here in Laborartory. Whatever it is. An art or new piece of technology, ideas become reality and Laborartory it moves on to the real world. But the main purpose is to spread creativity and ideas through public mind, because therein lies the potential of Brno. As the city of fairgrounds and technological development.
Bulk materials from oxidized powder feedstock
Luptáková, Diana ; Molliková, Eva (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
In this thesis, methods of effective aluminium powder oxidation are evaluated, such as oxidation at higher temperatures in atmosphere, anodic oxidation and oxidation during high-energy ball milling. It describes following treatment and methods creating volume sammples in such way, where ductile properties are preserved, but the process of hardening by aluminium oxide occurs.
Formation of Hypereutectic Aluminium Alloys Using Sacrificial Coatings
Gregor, Martin ; Jech, David (referee) ; Čelko, Ladislav (advisor)
Master‘s thesis deals with the forming of hypereutectic aluminium alloys using sacrificial coatings. Literature research is focused on analysing the characteristics of aluminium and its alloys. Attention is also focused to the heat treatment of aluminium alloys and the influence of alloying elements on these alloys. Analysis of characteristics and increase the useful properties of Al - Ni alloys is another object of literary research. Attention is also focused to the analysis of thermal spraying methods by focusing on the principle of individual methods and the characteristics of the coatings made by these methods. The object of experimental part is to prepare the hypereutectic aluminium alloys using sacrificial nickel based coatings. This is an unconventional manufacturing process comprising coating the surface of the aluminium substrate with using HVOF technology and subsequent thermal exposure. Furthermore, the work deals with the metallographic evaluation of prepared samples with a particular focus on the influence of temperature and time of heat treatment on the final structure of the experimental samples.
Heat treatment of aluminum alloys
Adami, Martin ; Čupera, Jan (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor theses deals with description aluminium alloys, theirs applications in engineering and theirs heat treatment. First part is focused on pure aluminium and its production. The other one is about distribution aluminium alloys by possibility of precipitation hardening.
New trends and material usage in bicycle frame design
Jelínek, Vladimír ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
Thesis in its first part summarizes the evolution of the bicycle from the draisine to the low wheels with a focus on the material of the frame of the bicycle. Also discussed in this section is an overview of small structural modifications, which were gradually used on a bike, like Bowden brake or the first type of transmission system. In the second part, the thesis describes the operating principles and types of suspension forks and disc brakes. Mentioned are materials that are currently used for bike frames with a focus on the advantages and disadvantages of each material used and its future anticipated use.
Rationalization of machining of shaped surfaces
Šulcová, Eva ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Chladil, Josef (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with milling of shaped surfaces. Theoretical part contains informations about methods of machining according to the cutting process, characterizes CNC machine, structure of CNC programs, cutting tools and types of shaped surfaces. In experimental part thesis described two methods of 5 axis machining: continuous machining and 3+2D machining. In this part there are destribed one specific shaped surface, choice of CNC machines and cutting tools, creation of CNC programs in CAM software and subsequent implementation both methods of machining. Results of both methods are summarized in the final section, specifically in the technical and economical evaluation and in the conclusion.
Basic methods of influencing the aluminum alloys structures
Janský, Vojtěch ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Blažík, Petr (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to deal with common ways influencing of structure of aluminium alloys. Thesis deals with speed of cooling, inoculation and modification. The experimental part compares photos of samples of different castings and influece of already mentioned ways of influencing of structure during solidification.
Machining of vulcanizing molds from aluminum alloys
Kaška, Zdeněk ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of deep drilling of vulcanization molds from various aluminum alloys. The work will describe a brief description of machined materials and tools for deep drilling, including the production of the vulcanization mold itself. Based on experimental measurements, the analysis of data and knowledge gained from deep drilling of aluminum alloys with different silicon contents will be performed. In the end, the individual components of force loads for both machined materials will be compared
