Analysis of milk thistle (\kur{Silybum marianum}) crop management in agricultural company

This diploma thesis deals with monitoring of milk thistle cultivation in selected farm in South Bohemia. The growth of the milk thistle was followed by fees for assessing growth and its developmental phase. Pre-harvest plant selections to estimate the number of flowers on the leaves and the number on the flowers. The feed yield, the tissue content for feeding, the water and dry matter content, the fat and N content, the total antioxidant activity were determined.

The bachelor thesis "Nutritive valuable substances in bakery products" firstly describes important nutrition substances, which may occur in bakery products such as complex carbohydrates, fibre, antioxidants and many more important substances. In the following parts author deals with: chemic composition of alternative crops used in bakery production, various types of seeds (mostly flax seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds), which may be used for enriching products and composition of products used for fine pastry filling. Thereinafter the author focuses on nutrition recommendations, which are relied to the bakery products and compararing of selected products. The final part of the thesis is dedicated to research, which shall provide customer preferences in the selection of bakery products.
Forage utilization of alternative crops

Alternative crops are divided into cultural and newly cultivated plants. Growing of these crops was gradually eliminated as the crops had not reached good feeding values. Nowadays, however, they are re-implemented and new kinds and varieties are grown again. The Institute of Fodder Crops is focused on their cultivation and it offers even advisory services. The important thing is to know the appropriate growing method because each plant differs in its demands concerning the location, agro technique and harvesting. The advantage of these crops is that they are undemanding regarding climate and soil conditions. Thanks to their cultivation, they are able to produce high amounts of phytomass with good nutritional value, and thus they can be compared to some traditional crops. The interest in alternative crops is still increasing and therefore the scope of these crops will increase in the future. Out of the chosen crops, I would like to emphasize Lotus cornitulatus, for its high contents of phytomass and an outstanding quality of fodder. Forage quality is one of the best clover, compared Melitotus, which has a bitter taste of her animals forage and therefore does not accept
