Determinant of origin of alcoholism and its effects on quality of an individual and his/her family members.
KRUMANOVÁ, Andrea
The bachelor thesis on ?Determinant of origin of alcoholism and its effects on quality of an individual and his/her family members? is divided into two parts. The theoretical section deals in general with alkohol dependence ? it includes a description of classification, typology, developmental stages and signs of alcoholism, biological, psychological, family and social factors of origin of the dependence, its effect, prevention, and the end of the charter deals with life quality. The practical section includes the objektive of the thesis and hypotheses thesis are defined, which begins the research described here. Then a chapter calleds ?Methods? comes, where the research process and means used for affirmation or disproof of specified goal and hypotheses are descroption. The next chapter ?Results? includes tables and charts with resultant values and their description. Information obtained from the reesarch are discussed there. The objectives of the thesis is - in research: I. to find the most frequent cause of alcoholism in a sample of 156 people addicted to alkohol, to describe them and confirm H1 hypothesis:? Cause of alcoholism are multifactorial and a dominating factor cannot be unambiguously specified?. And then in research II, to describe in a set consisting of 48 people (one exact half of them was those dependt on alkohol and the other one were their relatives) effect of alcoholism on quality of life of the person and his/her family members and to confirm or disprove H2 hypothesis: ? Alcoholism reduces quality of life of both the dependent person and his\her family members?. The third, final goal is to summarize facts and findings and suggest possible preventive solutions related to research results. Data in both researches were collected from selected patients using questionnaires and a quantitative method of asking. Our own questionnaire was used to investigate the first objective thesis and a standard SF-36 one on Health Related Qualiy of Life dealing with eight domains was used for verification of the other aim. It results from research I that determinants of alcoholism origin are multifacorial and a dominanting factor cannot be unambiguously found. More than a half of clients came for incomplete families, alcohol problems occurred in their families, they felt lack of love from their fathers, smaller percentage even from their mothers, they had no fixed rules in their education, low ? self confidence and no meaningful leisure time activities (interests), they suffered from stress in their job or were unemployed, more than half of them health disorders and unsatisfactory partnership, they felt alone etc. So the causes look like multifactorial and confirm H1 hypothesis. Research II results show that alcohol effect on the patients and their relatives unambiguously reduce quality of their lives, mostly in the field of emotions and social restriction of their roles, mental health and vitality. A decrease in their physical performance and overall health including pain perception also shows not negligible drop in comparison with the Oxford standard. Dependent responents´ relatives having relationship to a close person dependent to a great extent on alcohol felt emotional restriction on their roles and a drop in vitality where they did not reach even a half of the European standard score. So to achieve the third aim of the work and considering the above conclusions and results I suggest possible preventive measures at the level of the individual, family, school and society.

The psychological aspects of pubescence
NÁDENÍČKOVÁ, Michaela
Psychological aspects are various during the adolescence. Adolescents and their behaviour are influenced by many factors. This thesis is aimed at chicane problems, truancy and all sorts of addiction. These asocial and often also antisocial psychological effects inhibit children and adolescents from adequate developing. The surroundings, where the children and adolescents are growing up, is disturbed. Because there are more children with problems mentioned above, I would like to focus on prevention. During the interviews with teachers at primary and secondary schools, I would like to find out, if there are any prevention activities at their schools.
The Work of a Nurse at a Sobering-up Station
MRÁZKOVÁ, Radka
The thesis at hand is titled The Work of a Nurse at a Sobering-up Station (hereinafter referred to as SUS). The theoretical part comprises of basic information on the SUS, its history, nurse?s responsibilities, admittance of a client, their examination, treatment, and a list of basic terms related to alcohol and their definitions. The paper is divided into four chapters: Alcohol and Alcoholism, Sobering-up Station, Characteristics of the Work of a Nurse, and Admittance of Clients. The objective of the thesis was to find out the specific features of the work of a nurse and observe the background of a nurse so she can work at an SUS. A research was carried out based on two research questions, which respondents answered in the research part of the bachelor?s thesis. The research part was carried out by qualitative method of a research, using a method of semi-standardized interview. The interview consists of 36 questions and is anonymous. Throughout the interview, a number of additional questions were asked. Information retrieved from interviews was processed and is shown in case reports. Some questions are shown in categorization tables. The research corpus included 8 nurses working at SUS?s in České Budějovice and Jihlava. Having carried out the research and meeting the objectives, the author found out that most of the respondents do not find their work at an SUS either mentally or physically demanding, but relatively stress-free. The respondents also observed other important features being part of the work at an SUS: collaboration with the police, SUS?s on-site safety precautions, communication and handling clients that are aggressive or intoxicated with alcohol, work with clients intoxicated with alcohol and/or strange people. And last but not the least, the preceding list also includes responsibility for the client and the SUS in case a doctor is not present, and perform surveillance of the clients using CCTV cameras installed in each cell. The second research question defined for the purposes of this bachelor?s thesis was: ?What are the skills nurses should have while working at an SUS?? At work, nurses need to show such skills that are related to their education and work experience. Skills added to the list by respondents include: mental condition, physical fitness, work experience gained either at an inpatient department or at a psychiatric institution, communication skills, authoritative personality, elocution, not being biased against alcoholics, and it is considered to be an advantage if the staff on duty are males. The thesis at hand can be used as an overview of the work at an SUS, which might be found useful by nurses, general public and medical students. It can also be utilized to help consolidate relevant legislation on SUS?s and to improve communication between stations.
Possibilities Of Art Therapy In Track Social Practice
GLOZ, Zdeněk
I chose this theme of my thesis because I was highly by elective subject Artetherapy at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies in České Budějovice. Artetherapy has a broad range of application. It is a psychotherapeutic branch various forms of which have been used worldwide. This specific kind of therapy has vast application in social work in general. Artetherapeutic techniques can be used at work with children, handicapped and mentally disordered people, or seniors. Due to very broad range of this theme I focused my research work on target group of chronic alcoholics, because I had not found many works dealing with artetherapy applied to this target group. I also wanted to find out if artetherapeutic techniques might lead to any changes of these people. I decided to focus on this particular target group to find out whether application of artetherapeutic techniques might enable penetrating into their heart, and thus contribute to their development, or sustain their general condition. I made use of artetherapeutic techniques to understand their personality. Creating collages turned out to be the best. I also carried out drawing projective tests. Establishing cooperation with chronic alcoholics was extremely difficult. These people lack motivation to any kind of activity. They believe that there will always be someone to help them. In research part I illustrate general condition of the addicted by means of case reports and artefact, and describe ways of motivation I was able to use.
Dependencies problem on the second grade of the basic school
VLČKOVÁ, Martina
My thesis concentrates on the dependencies problem on the second grade of the basic school. It has two parts {--} theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I analyse the term dependency and characterise the particular types {--} alcoholism, gambling and toxicomania. Firstly I try to define the causes and conditions of dependencies, secondly I focus on the questions how can be recognised the dependency by scholars and what the teacher must and can do in this situation. I try to map out the possibilities and efficiency of as yet implemented forms of prevention. The comparison with other states follows. In the practical part I look closely at the present state of occurred dependencies on the second grade of the basic schools in a specific area. I chart this state with the questionnaire method and the interview and then I should be able to find out whether there is a difference concerning the dependencies between a city and a village. The evaluation is completed with statistical calculations.
