The centre for finishing of the treathment as a form of subsequent care offering social rehabilitation of clients

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of social rehabilitation of recovering drug addicted clients within the use of aftercare programme. Chapters in the theoretical part are devoted to clarifying the definition of basic concepts in the field of drugs and drug addiction, the possible causes of risky drug use, its effects and suggestions of solutions in the system of care for drug addicted clients. There is also described in more detail the subsequent care in general, with a focus on aftercare centres and individual components of their recovery program for clients. The issue of social integration of recovering drug addicts into society is also outlined. The research part brought findings, the aim of which was to map how the participation in the aftercare program specifically helps the client with the stabilization of his life situation and with his integration into society and into everyday life in general. The research survey was taken in a form of semi-structured interviews with five participants who were clients of the Prevent aftercare centre in České Budějovice at that time.
Assesment of needs of clients of Aftercare Centre Prevent in Ceske Budejovice.

The study presents an assessment of needs of clients of the Aftercare Centre Prevent in Ceske Budejovice and investigates which needs are perceived by the clients as significant. Theoretical part deals with needs in terms of selected motivation theories and describes work with drug addicts, mainly in tertiary prevention sphere. The term of aftercare is discussed in this section, together with components of aftercare programmes and the Aftercare centre Prevent in Ceske Budejovice itself. Included is also a comparison of the main needs theories and actual needs of drug addicts. The practical part includes characteristics of the sample of participants, methodology of Needs Assessment data gathering, and results of the analysis based on the well established theory by Strauss and Glaser. The outcome of the study is a set of categories reflecting basic needs of drug addicts during the process of aftercare, which is coherent with their perceptions.
