Šindelářová, Jana ; Štichauer, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Duběda, Tomáš (referee)
This work is concerned with using of evaluative prefixes of types archi-, extra-, hyper- and super- in french. The theoretical part concentrates on connecting of these prefixes with different types of words, like nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs. We are concerned above all with adjectives, where these prefixes are used when forming an absolute superlative. Further ways of forming an absolute superlative are specified here for comparison with the use of these prefixes. Furthermore, this work examines the use of these lexemes as single standing words. The practical part targets concrete examples of prefix connections archi-, extra-, hyper-, super- with adjectives used by native speakers. The target is to investigate according to which rule these prefixes are connected with adjectives, which one is the most and the least used and if there is any diference in using these prefixes among men and women. Key words: Morphology, word formation, word composition, prefix, evaluative prefix, prefixoid, suffix, noun, adjective, verb, adverb.
On the inherency priciple in contemporary Dutch
Kyslý, Martin ; Pekelder, Jan (advisor) ; Hrnčířová, Zdeňka (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to describe the phenomenon known as the Inherency Principle in the Dutch language from the perspective of a non-native speaker. The study focuses on research and analysis of how modern journalism incorporates grammatical rules, and specifically the application of the Inherency Principle within journalistic text. The study is based on a review of several newspaper articles from a range of news categories including current affairs; culture; comment; sport etc. The structure of the sentences within these texts is critically analysed and carefully assessed to identify if the practical use of language in journalism corresponds to the rules of the Inherency Principle as defined in The Algemene Nederlandse Spraakkunst (ANS). The ANS is considered to hold some of the most important and complex grammatical functions by both expert and non-native Dutch speakers. The Inherency Principle in particular is linked to a number of issues that are explored in this paper. The second chapter of the thesis outlines the theoretical basis of the Inherency Principle using two descriptive grammatical handbooks of the Dutch language, namely Algemene Nederlandse zin, by Haeseryn et. al. from 1997, and Grammatica van de Nederlandse zin, by Vandeweghe et. al. from 2004. The subsequent chapters...
Types of adverbs in the language of baroque texts and their development
KLIMEŠOVÁ, Markéta
Adverbs constitute an important element in expressing circumstances. In our dissertation we try to present various types of adverbs in the language of texts which date back to 17th and 18th centuries (so-called Baroque period). The word-formation aspect of these adverbs and the development of their meaning are emphasized. Different semantic shifts of adverbs are observed as well as their usage with functions of different parts of speech (usually particles or conjunctions). The development of adverbs found in Baroque texts is compared both with older language period and with some results of their development in contemporary Czech.

Present Perfect versus Past Tense with adverbs like just, recently, lately
ŠÍMOVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor's dissertation focuses on an issue of usage of present perfect and past simple tense with adverbs as "just, recently and lately", which are usually used with present perfect tense. To look into the usage of adverbial "in the past" is another task of the bachelor's dissertation. Grammatik says that adverbial "in the past", is not usual to combine with present perfect tense but with past simple tense. The research is based on British National Corpus database. The main aim of the research is to find out the number of sentences written in present perfect tense or past simple tense in combination with the given adverbials. The other aim is to compare the usage of given tenses with adverbials in specific text types or text domains.
